  low buck turbo?
Posted by: BLINGMW - 08-19-2005, 12:36 AM - Forum: Technical Discussion - Replies (7)

I think I have a really good idea. If I just routed the exhaust directly back into the intake, skipping all that $$ turbo stuff, wouldn't I get the same end result? And by "end result", I mean, blown up, non-running motor?

a little fun in the HPDE

here's a "thought". Pick what should be the slowest car in any given group on any given day. Put a special flag on that car. Like a pink flag. And if you have to give way to that car, you are demoted to the next lowest group. Yes?

its in Winston Salem, close enough for some of you to justify going. 24 hours, you basically get in line as fast as you can for as many runs as you can fit into a whole 24 hours 8)

might be a good test/tune session, although the open track is better.

  Headphones
Posted by: damnit458 - 08-18-2005, 10:11 AM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (59)

Im looking to buy some nice headphones, but unfortunately I dont know much about them. These would be more to use at my computer, as I am perfectly content with the ones that I got with my ipod. I realize that the description I gave of what I want is kinda broad, but Im sure you guys have had some experience, or know more about quality headphones than I do. Any suggestions?

Im not lookin to spend to much, but Id be willing to spend some decent money for a good pair.

Looks like SuperGT at Cali Speedway is Cancelled =(

Quote:First, the GT LIVE team sincerely thanks you for your past support and future interest in GT LIVE. No doubt you're here because you don't want to miss another GT LIVE and we're looking forward to delivering the next one to you.

Bringing the Super GT series here for a 2005 GT LIVE proved to be full of insurmountable scheduling obstacles. Our 2004 event took us 3 years of logistics work to set up and unfortunately, it did not get much easier the second time around so we are skipping 2005 to allow us to focus on delivering a higher quality experience in 2006.

The great news for 2006 is that we are planning three GT LIVE events: one in California, one on the East Coast and a third GT LIVE at a location to be announced soon. We'll issue a formal announcement at the end of August that will include a specific schedule and an overview of all the content in our 2006 GT LIVE tour. If you made it to GT LIVE 2004, you know it was all about the content, with endless things to do and see and no time for boredom. 2006 will be no exception. Stay tuned!

In the meantime we thank you again for your support and e-mails and we're looking forward to seeing you at one or all GT LIVE events in 2006!

The GT LIVE Team at Paramax

Geez, you get ONE event to put on in a year at a racetrack that has very few events per year (Cali Speedway has ZERO pro events in December) and somehow unsurmountable scheduling conflicts come up? Maybe it was a problem with the teams or something but that sounds pretty mfn' stupid to me. Guess I'll have to find something else to spend my free travel vouchers on.

Julie and I (mostly Julie) bought a 2005 Ford Focus on Monday. We got a hell of a deal. ZX3, only option is AC. We test drove an assload of different cars before driving through North Carolina on our way to Edisto for vacation and buying the last 5 speed focus on the lot. It was ~10,500 before trade and additions, and we went ahead and bought an extended bumper to bumper, gap protection (because resale values suck), and two years free maintenance.

I really like it.
