Madison Motorsports Convocation Cleanup Fundraiser
Posted by: Ryan T - 11-09-2005, 11:26 PM - Forum: Events - Replies (14)

Alright guys, we signed up for this at the beginning of the semester and they just recently sent out the dates. As a fundraiser were going to be cleaning the Convocation center after a basketball game. It will earn the club $250! We will be cleaning up after the game on 1/13/06. We have to have a minimum of 20 people to do this, so we need anyone and everyone that can come to do so. If we have 20 people it shouldn't take very long at all to get the job done. Please try to make plans to attend this, thanks!!

Are there any people interested in starting an unofficial MM house next year? I don't think I want to live w/ my roomates next year, and this idea has been brought up before. Thoughts??

 New additions to the family...
Posted by: JohnC - 11-09-2005, 04:59 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (63)

I know Jess mentioned these guys a while ago, but I finally had the chance to upload some pictures...

Maggie (with the pink collar) and Bruce (with the blue collar) joined us from the local animal shelter (where Jess volunteers). They were found in a ditch along Route 6, when they were about 3-4 weeks old. Out of the litter of 4, we took home these two, and the others went separately to good homes:

This was the day after they came home (back in August, I think), ~8 weeks old...

So damn fuzzy the camera can't even focus!

And oh lord how they stink...

This pictures is from last month, puppies grow *really* fast. By this point the newspaper was just for playing with - we haven't had an "accident" in a couple of months. Crate training is paying off!

They're both easily over 20lbs now, Maggie is probably up to almost 30. And they learned yesterday how to unlatch the gate on their backyard run  Their favorite thing to do now (besides eat) is to chase tennis balls around the dining room when we're inside and chase bugs when we're outside Smile They're great 8)

http://rally.stanis.info/

came across a link to this site, it's a bunch of excellent, full length 2005 features of the Catalunya, Tour de Course, Neste Rally Finland, and some other Nordic stuff i can't pronounce. but i'm in it for the tarmac stages.

probably some of the best stuff you'll find without having to resort to bittorrent. now go ravage this guy's bandwidth!

Basically, the awesome new Solstice with the 400HP LS2 V8 from the C6 vette swapped in. About 18k for the whole package...figure in the 18k or so for the Solstice and you have a 400HP/400lbft lightweight roadster for 36k. Supercharger/Turbocharging optional

Civic Tops Stolen-Car List - sorry Jray
Posted by: bassmangrammy - 11-08-2005, 11:16 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (10)

From carconnection.com: Civic Tops Stolen-Car List

The annual list of the nation's most-stolen cars is out, and the winner of the dubious distinction this year is the 1995 Honda Civic. Based on insurance information from 2004, compiled by the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), the Civic tops the list because of its longevity on the road and its sales popularity. Five other Japanese vehicles ranked in the top ten, including the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord; the four domestics on the list are all trucks save for the '94 Dodge Caravan. The NICB says car thefts were down by 1.9 percent in 2004 from the year prior, although thefts in the western U.S. increased 3.2 percent during the year. In order, the ten most stolen vehicles are: 1) 1995 Honda Civic; 2) 1989 Toyota Camry; 3) 1991 Honda Accord; 4) 1994 Dodge Caravan; 5) 1994 Chevrolet C/K pickup; 6) 1997 Ford F-150; 7) 2003 Dodge Ram; 8) 1990 Acura Integra; 9) 1988 Toyota pickup; and 10) 1991 Nissan Sentra.

Taking my GRE's on Thursday...any hints?
Posted by: CaptainHenreh - 11-08-2005, 10:37 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (36)

Ok, so I'm taking the computer-based GRE at Prometric in Roanoke the day after tomorrow. The computer based test is "learning" which means the first 5 questions are the really crucial ones, as they determine the largest part of your score, which is then "fine-tuned" with the rest of the questions.

Anyone have any other hints for me?

Going to check this out this weekend, possibly buy

Meeting up with Bo on Saturday to check out his car and maybe take it for a test drive. Here's the clicky

Quick details if you're too lazy to read it all:
Ultimate racing GT-35R turbo kit + supporting mods
FMIC
UTEC
Tein Flex coilovers with EDFC (very cool)
In-car PC touch-screen
Bunch more stuff

Thoughts? Other than the risks of purchasing a used, heavily modified car.
