for about 5 years i have been in love with the look of sc's - 5 speed version is super cool- big, comfortable, pimpin, sexy, can still drift it without a problem. the 3 spoke advans actually look good on the car to me.

fast as a mofo now (well.. fast enough) will be a drift monster once the diff is in. (totally set up to be a bad ass drift car) can make 350-360whp with about 1200 bucks.

CONs
rides ruff as hell (like track car ruff), very loud, solid motor mounts make it feel like the car is going to vibrate in half. pretty uncomfortable (deff cant take girls here out in it haha ) so damn low i cant clear speed bumps or get into most parking lots without scraping the bottom of the car off (coilovers are pretty much all the way up now). with the power and never owning a turbo car i know im going to get myself into trouble with it. also i feel like a ricer when im in it eventhough ive done all i can to not make it a ricer haha



The catch.. if it even is one. the car was wrecked at a drift event.. the whole pass. side was messed up. the car has new black fender and door. the rear quarter still needs to be fixed, then the whole side would need to be painted. to make up for this the guy said i can keep the new in box kaaz LSD (worth 900 bucks) and the wheels (worth 600 bucks) with that 1500 im thinking i could have the quarter fixed and the whole side painted so it will look like the pics above again

i know the guy and the car pretty well. im meeting with him friday so we can check out eachothers cars and work out some more details and junk. he originally called me to ask if i wanted to buy it cause he is moving overseas. i told him i just built the 240 and i like it. i sent him pics of it and he wondered if id be willing to trade. he would drive it till he left then give it to his brother (who doesnt want the sc and wants a sr 240)

I know Shea only has like 10k miles or something, and Maeng is up to 48 or something (all under his belt). Here's to hoping you guys have done your research.

So I really have no idea how long I'm going to have this for, but it'll probably be for awhile. What are common issues? If we talked about it already at the party, I'm not gonna remember that so forgive me for repeating (espeically you Maeng, I already picked your brain). Is the tranny going to explode like it does on regular WRX's (doing some research, doesn't seem to be as bad...)? What other common issues should I look out for? I've heard they put crappy clutches in to reduce shock on the drivetrain - does it not last long?

I might be getting one with anywhere from 10-40k or so miles, so any and all advice you have will be helpful.

Is there any reason to keep your passenger pegs on the bike if you have changed to a solid rear cowl and never intend on taking a passenger?

6spd, 150hp, 250lbft. It was a sled, but amazingly got out of its own way pretty well. Of course the sticker added a few HP:





And surprisingly we enjoyed it a lot. It really handled quite well, the engine was smooth, and it even got 19MPG ON TRACK (45 highway!). Gas engines are dead to me now.

Anyway, if you want some idea of what it was like, I spent a little time comparing this morning. Fire up GT4, arcade mode, pick the BMW 120d. Then do the "quick tune up", add 10% weight, subtract 10% power, and slap on the worst tires, regular economy tires. :lol: Then take it for a spin. I found the corner speeds, grip and power to be pretty darn close. Gear ratios are way long, but that's ok. Not much fun? Well, shut up. It was awesome. Maybe it'll help if every time it leaves the ground or the tail gets out, you remind yourself that you're driving a luxury car that you can't afford, thousands of miles from home. :wink: Oh, and it's lightly snowing off and on! HA!

Oh, and I'm pretty impressed by the game as well, I thought it was a GREAT model of the track. The elevation seems so much more serious in reality, but I think it's all there in the game, it's just hard to get perspective on it. And the pavement was actually better and smoother than I expected. So keep playing, and save up for some plane tickets.

I have the 27" version at home and i think it's good for a regular tv.

Selling b/c she's buying a plasma in the very near future and she already has 2 other TV's (other than this one) where she's the only one in the house.

What the hell is going on with the gas prices. If this keeps up, I'm going to have to get a second job to afford to drive to my first job. It's already 2.76 for regular around here. So by the middle of the summer, 3.50/gallon is a definitely possibility.

I'm working on my overall lack of smoothness but I'm having a hard time visualizing smooth braking and turning. I'm reading Ross Bentley's Professional Racing Techniques and he talks about squeezing the brakes smoothly.
I treat my brake pedal like an on/off switch, I brake late and jam on the brakes and quickly get off them. Now, I recognize that the quick lift off the brake upsets the car, followed by my jerk of the wheel into the turn leaves much to be desired. What are some exercises that I can work on to help me be smoother.
