  Help! Need new desktop
Posted by: Ole - 11-28-2008, 03:12 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (43)

I need a new desktop computer for my office. Knowing how cheap and inexperienced I am, I am seeking advice from you knowledgeable folks here.

I am looking at Dell in their "outlet" website. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.dell.com/content/products/category.aspx/desktops?c=us&cs=22&l=en&s=dfh&~ck=mn">http://www.dell.com/content/products/ca ... dfh&~ck=mn</a><!-- m -->

I need something I can hook 2 monitors up to. Memory of at least 2g, DVD RW would be nice and lots of storage.

Which do you suggest? XPS? Inspiron? Remember, I am frugal.

Thanks guys!

Just checking in. I found the site/club through member rezarxt over on svtperformance.com. I don't go to JMU, I'm a townie. I do have an '03 Cobra though if that's any consolation.

  WTB: cd/dvd rom/r/rw drive

Hey MM 'puter parts hoarders

I need a cdrom drive or any combination of dvd and writable you've got laying around. If you've got one collecting dust somewhere, let me know. The cheaper the better, so long as it works.

Alright so I know every one of you has a few things that you're totally into that you know your boys / friends / significant others would give you shit for if they knew or already give you shit for. We're all friends here so I'm going to go first:

1. Mariah Carey. Yes, I fucking love this girl's music and I don't know why. Especially dance remixes. I heard one again on XM and I felt it move a little down there.

2. Star Trek. TNG above all else. Yes, I DVR it even though I've seen every episode 6 times.

3. White Zinfandel. I feel so weird drinking something pink but I don't care. My girlfriend (Ducati Girl if you all remember the Ducati thread) has gotten me into it... especially the Charles Shaw $3/bottle variety!

I've probably got some others but that's all I can think of for now. How about you all?? :lol: :lol:

I'm surprised there haven't been any threads about this:

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfoot2/misc/tsn-div-1aa-poll.htm">http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnf ... a-poll.htm</a><!-- m -->

so JMU's season has been pretty impressive, hopefully we'll pull out another championship like in 2004. Think we can do it? Discuss.

  MM Oakton House... looking for one more!
Posted by: Kaan - 11-24-2008, 03:16 PM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (14)

We have a room for rent in Oakton VA. The rent will be $540/month plus utilities. The room includes sharing the common living room, kitchen, dining room, basement, laundry room, two car attached garage, and 3 car detached garage. This room shares the bathroom with one of the other roommates.

The house sits on 2.5 acres; we share yard mowing duty (a riding mower) and have plenty of space for a trailer or multiple vehicles. There is a spare bedroom used for some storage but the idea is to have a spare bedroom incase a friend needs to stay over or you would like family to have a place to crash if they come in town.

The 2 car attached garage has one bay reserved for parking of motorcycles while the other bay is used for quick maintenance on daily drivers (oil changes and other such things). The 3 car detached garage is used for longer term projects as well as storage. There is plenty of space in both for anything you might need to store/work on.

The house uses propane for heat and cooking. ItÔÇÖs on well water and a septic system. The water heater is electric. The basement is currently under renovation, but should be ready soon.

The house currently has 3 professional males living in it. We are all ÔÇ£beltway banditsÔÇØ who have a passion for cars and motorcycles. We are looking for a professional person who shares the same interests and is easy going. The startup costs will be $540 security deposit, $540 first monthÔÇÖs rent, plus $300 gas deposit

Should be able to move in June 1st 2009!

  seat/harness hardware
Posted by: Chris - 11-23-2008, 04:41 PM - Forum: Technical Discussion - Replies (3)

I remember a while ago someone knew of a site that sells high quality nuts and bolts, etc that were of higher strength and would be recommended in using for bolting down seats and harnesses mounts.

Any suggestions?
