its a bit dusty already and i couldn't get the lighting right but here's a few month's work:

Morgan 4/4 in 1/24th scale! i always thought they were really cool in a genuine, old school way and the fact that they are actually fast in real life is pretty neat too. there is a local i see around here with one almost just like this (green on black) and in the flesh its just an incredibly graceful car.

the flocking for the carpet turned out whiter than i wanted but it covered well.

the hoods are a bit finicky but thankfully this side opens pretty well

it was a Tamiya kit which went together great as usual. the only part that gave me trouble was the cowl and hoods since they have to be assembled at the same time while supporting each other. stuff like real rubber tires, the hood belt, hub spinners (word), and the posable steering were nice bonuses.

also, Tamiya spray paints are great. i did the body in 6 coats, wetsanded, and i probably could have stopped after 3. its really nicely coating stuff and one can can do about 1 small car.

i'll take a break for a while but i'm already eyeing some italian options...

  Jobs in Harrisonburg?
Posted by: Goodspeed - 12-28-2008, 08:48 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (7)

For this coming semester (and onwards) I'm currently looking for a part-time job in H'burg, working evenings (after class). Just thought I'd throw up a want-ad to see if anyone knows of any openings or can offer any advice (past/current students that work(ed) etc.) on what is out there and what to look for.

The closer to Port Republic area, in and around JMU included, the better. If any further info is needed, feel free to PM me.

Thanks!

  Kill Switch and Fog lights
Posted by: Kaan - 12-22-2008, 03:09 PM - Forum: Technical Discussion - Replies (16)

In light of JayRays car getting wtfstolenandormolestedforthe10thtime ... I need electrical guru help.

They attempted to steal the CRX in nyc. they didnt take it... but they could have. So i'd like to get a kill switch put in. whats the best way to do it? how thick of a wire should i used? I can hide it myself, thats not the issue, i just dont know exactly the best way to rig it wire wise. If they want it bad enough to tow it... fucking let them have it...

Secondly... my POS has terrible headlights... they are clear, they work, but they arent bright enough... so i want to add fogs... how do you wire them in so that when i hit the high beams they turn off... the inspection guys go nuts on me for this. i'd rather have them run all the time if the headlights are on, and just click off if the high beams are activated (probably only in the inspection station!)
