A friend of mine owns a Dodge Dakota, very similar to this one except its black:
![[Image: 2000.dodge.dakota.3207-300x189.jpg]](http://a332.g.akamai.net/f/332/936/12h/www.edmunds.com/pictures/VEHICLE/2000/Dodge/1702/2000.dodge.dakota.3207-300x189.jpg)
He was asking me earlier today about getting new wheels. He was thinking black on black with or without the red lip. Since I know nothing about trucks, anyone know of wheels that are good/reputable or ones he should stay away from? Or where to buy them? Maybe even photoshop black wheels (w or wo the red lip) on this truck?

A lot of you have experience here and I have, exactly, none. I'm hoping you can offer some suggestions on a system for my truck. It's an '01 F150.
The primary need for this system is to protect the truck and its contents when I'm on an adventure. I frequently go rock climbing, kayaking, biking, snowboarding, caving, etc. For all of these, there is quite often some expensive equipment in the truck when its parked in a vacant lot or field. Particularly where I go climbing, break ins are frequent.
Here are some things I'd like to consider in this decision:
- The truck has a topper on it. It locks via a middle handle. I sleep in the back and I also store gear back there. Protection of this area is a must.
Remote start would rock. I'd love to be able to warm it up ahead of time.
Vehicle theft deterrent is desired. Starter disable, etc.
I want it loud as possible. I have Hella supertones on it right now so I think I could incorporate those, but a loud-as-hell additional siren is desired too.
It has to be super reliable.
It needs to be able to be overridden by me in some secret way. Dead battery, lost keys, etc, do happen.
Similarly, it can't malfunction and leave me stranded in the middle of nowhere.
The truck has Ford PATS. This might affect what will/won't work properly.
The truck has roof racks. I'd love to somehow monitor these to deter theft of their contents.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Peter

I've been considering Vista for awhile for various reasons. No, I don't need to upgrade but there a few features that I'd really like to have.
I've done all the reading, talked to all the techies and I think I might make the switch. While I'm doing the upgrading, I thought I might as well go to 64-bit to support more RAM and get t3h b00st. I'm currently at 2gb, but am considering getting 2x2gb for the other two slots at the time of upgrade.
Is anyone running it and if you are, have you experienced any issues with specific 32-bit programs?

If anyone has any friends that might be interested in the complete car or the roller please get in touch with me. I will take a loss to get rid of it. I don't want to post a price, I just wanted to let MM know I am looking to rid myself of it. I'm in the market for a clean and complete Omni GLH if anyone sees one for sale less then $2000.
Thanks,
Jeff

I sent a guy an email about a lexus is300 for sale on craigslist for 4500. he sent me this email in return:
Hello,
The car (2002 Lexus IS 300) is in absolutely perfect condition, no scratches, dings, dents or other imperfections. Never accidented, Always garaged. Clear title, no leans. I will accept $4,500 if you buy it now. It has only 57078 miles, 6 cylinder 3.0L and fully loaded.
Firstly, I need to tell you that i am located in Anchorage, Alaska. I am selling the car urgently because my squadron has been sent back to Iraq and don't want it to get old in my garage. The price is low because I need to sell it before january 29th...I will take care of all transport arrangements.
Usually shipment takes maximum 3 to 5 days depending on your location and will be fully insured against damages, shipped in a crated container.....on my cost!!
I am a member of the eBay buyer protection program and using this service you will get a 5 days testing period after delivery. During that 5 days testing period I will not be getting any money.
If you agree with my above terms, I'm sure that we can close the deal as soon as possible.
I have reserved the car for you until I will have your final answer.
Reply soon,
Walter
