Helmet that ices your brain after a crash
Posted by: G.Irish - 11-25-2009, 03:09 PM - Forum: Motorcycles - Replies (2)

I think they should call it the Ice Bucket. Or Brain Freezer. Either way, it sounds like an awesome idea. Perfect for saving your brain until it can be cryogenically frozen until the future when they can put your brain in a robot body...

  WTB: Cheap, crappy tires
Posted by: Dave - 11-20-2009, 12:09 AM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (4)

Looking for some tires that hold air and have some tread (no cords showing) to put on wheels for the Z. The size is 15x7 and obviously the cheaper the better (free would be awesome).

Examples include:
185/55/15
185/60/15
205/50/15

Fuzion HRi 195/60/15 for $48 each on Tirerack is the best I can find on a new tire...

  Shanna M.

Hey! My name is Shanna and I'm a freshman here at JMU. I've been surrounded by car lovers since I was younger, so I was bound to end up in the car scene sooner or later. I started off with a '92 Honda Accord for my 16th birthday. I quickly fell in love with the integra body style and picked up a '99 vsm LS auto (ahh). I then got bored and learned 5speed so I sold the LS and purchased a 2000 flamenco black pearl GSR 12 hours away in florida!

traded my slips for a different set of wheels.. kosei k1s. 15x7 silvers. i hope to start auto-x'ing and these only weigh 13.5lbs each. i actually want to trade for a set of rpf1s or sa90s in the near future.

I'm an active member on other forums such as hondatech, vadriven, clubintegra, teamintegra, and nwp4life, and I hope to do the same on here. My future plans are:

oem itr lip- christmas
suspension build up: itr sway, asr subframe, koni yellow/gc, new bushings, etc.
--many other bolt ons, too many to list. i eventually want to run out my b18c1 and buy a b18c or even a k swap.

  Anyone looking for a job?
Posted by: Kaan - 11-18-2009, 03:17 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (17)

Obviously I cant do this job I cant freaking spell. But new grads/December grads/someone looking to get into the auto industry and/or something different here you go!

Autos Online Editor/Producer

We're seeking a junior online editor/producer for our car review and ranking site, usnews.rankingsandreviews.com. The Rankings and Reviews team is a small but aggressive team within the U.S. News and World Report family, dedicated to building the best consumer advice site on the Web.

The online autos editor/producer position is a full-time contract position in our Washington, DC office.

The ideal online editor/producer for our team is deadline and detail-oriented, and extremely self-motivated. The ability to analyze and synthesize large quantities of information into easily readable and searchable car reviews is key, as are top-notch online research skills. Experience in online publishing is a plus. Enthusiasm about cars and the automotive market is a big help, but the best person for the job will be just as enamored with writing about minivans as they are with writing about supercars.

Funny Clarkson Article on Riding a Scooter

Clarkson is a bit of a sissy when it comes to bikes but I thought this was funny:

So who in Harrisonburg has a truck?
Posted by: missmotocross3 - 11-17-2009, 04:23 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (11)

So, I am dying to go riding! I haven't been since like this summer, because of all the school work and not having a trailer or truck to haul my dirtbike. I was wondering if anyone in or near Harrisonburg has a truck that I could put my bike in the back of to transport down Rt. 81 a total of 2 exits to a track. It is literally 5 minutes from JMU. Please let me know if you are willing to help me out! All I would need is for you to pick me and my bike up from North 38 and drop us off at the track, then pick me up in a couple hours.
Thanks Big Grin

Exterior
Overall the outside of the car is in good shape. 8 out of 10. There are no dents of scratches on vehicle. The car has had some paint work in the front end from a previous minor accident with previous owner. The passenger door doesnÔÇÖt match perfect and there are two very small spots where the clear coat is slightly peeling on top of door near roof. This is the only panel that this has this issue. There is also is 5ish MM dent on the top of the pass fender where a screw driver was closed in the hood. Both of these are very minor and most people would never notice them but are issues I want to point out.

Interior
Overall also in good shape. 8.5 out of 10. 2 small burns in headliner near sunroof where at one point and time someone must have ashed a cigarette out the sunroof and missed. Both of these are smaller than a pencil eraser, and no one has noticed them besides me. The drivers seat had a split in the seam on the upper bolster. The car was taken to VW and under warranty they re-stitched the split. The job wasnÔÇÖt completed how I would expect a dealer to fix something under warranty, but the split is fixed. The rest of the interior is in awesome shape.

Drivability - Mechanically
The car runs and drives awesome. No CEL or any warning lights at all. Car gets 26-30mpg consistently. I have daily driven the car and havenÔÇÖt had a single issue or hiccup.

The only thing the car needs is a drivers door sensor or something. When the door is opened it doesnÔÇÖt show the door open warning light on dash like it does with passenger door. Since it doesnÔÇÖt recognized the door is closed the keyless entry will not unlock. It will lock and trunk pop still works fine. I just havenÔÇÖt bothered fixing it because isnÔÇÖt an issue that bothered me enough. Everything else with the car is in great working order.

All stock parts come with car, suspension, airbox etc

Reason for selling - The car is very fun to drive and makes a great DD but I am ready for something new. I need to get back into a rwd car, I hate fwd. I also really dislike yellow and want a car that is less flashy. Will not consider trades unless it is a e36 M3.

I am asking $9500 for the car. I feel this is a very fair price on a 20th with these miles. The reason I am not asking more is because this isnÔÇÖt a perfect car. If it were I would seek top dollar. If you are looking for a perfect car then this isnÔÇÖt for you. If you want a well maintained, clean 20th with decent mileage then this is a great car. Hope my honesty in this post helps. I know most people wouldnÔÇÖt point out little things like I did, but I donÔÇÖt want anyone to think the car is something that it isnÔÇÖt.
