  MM music video or documentary
Posted by: ScottyB - 06-09-2004, 11:29 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (15)

i was wondering how many of you guys would like to try to start filming our adventures and developing the footage into a video compilation. i personally have zero access to a digi cam or editing software, but maybe some of you do? i think it would be alot of fun, it would bring the club together even more, and it would be great advertisement at club days or to show at events. here is an example of what i am aiming for us to maybe go for:

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.hightach.com/frames.htm">http://www.hightach.com/frames.htm</a><!-- m --> (under members... go to the video section at the bottom...the auto-x vids are a good example) i'd post the video but i dont have the space on we-todd-did.

anyway does anyone think we can do this? it would be easy to make a camera mount or two for inside cars, and we could film just about anything....cruises, shows, racing, wrench days, bbq's, etc. i know some of you guys already have footage too, like Evan and Ryan. what do you all think?

requesting info on 94 Talon Tsi?
Posted by: GQROB - 06-09-2004, 12:43 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (28)

What do people know about these cars besides the fact that they are 4WD turbo cars.
I found one for sale that is untouched by bing and bling, and has been well taken care of. It has a whopping 172,000 miles.
Oil changes have been the regular every 3000 miles, and the transmission apparently seems solid.
Possibly good buy for $1700.00?

Tell me what ya know?
Thanks
Rob

  Jack's Daytime Running Lights

After months of blowing fuses and confusing diagrams, I found the right wire combo to run daytime running lights on my rx. Here's the thread... <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=3129496">http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=3129496</a><!-- m -->

and here's the good stuff...

  Honda Hamp Oil Filter Deal
Posted by: .RJ - 06-08-2004, 04:38 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (26)

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=796722">http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=796722</a><!-- m -->

FWIW -

Quote:the Hamp filters have a stronger casing, better seals, nmore pleats in the filter, m,ore perferations inthe inner filter wall, the same check release valve system and a magnet to attract metal particals inteh oil.
honda filters have a lighter casing, less quality on the seals and rubber used, and do not have as many pleats.

Hamp filters are provided as stock units onoem JDM type r and S model hondas. the other trim levels get a standard honda filter.

I'm using these in my car now (the small size). Me and G are going to pick up 5 each - who else wants in on this?

  Endurance Karting Race
Posted by: Chris - 06-08-2004, 10:40 AM - Forum: Events - Replies (6)

I found an endurance karting school in Charlotte, NC that offers team races on the Lowe's karting track. The next race is very soon: June 25th-26th. I'm not sure if we can make this event but they offer another race later in the year. Check it out:

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.endurancekarting.com/">http://www.endurancekarting.com/</a><!-- m -->

go to the Charlotte, NC details in the yellow box on the left side of the page. There is an option for 3 or 6 hr races, prices are a bit steep but we may be able to work out something depending on club funds.

Thoughts?

  Z32 Brakes-- Rebuilt!
Posted by: CaptainHenreh - 06-08-2004, 09:41 AM - Forum: Appearance/Cosmetic - Replies (22)

So I just finished sandblasting, rebuilding, and painting my S14 Silvia K's 4 piston brakes. Rebuilding them was so easy, I don't see why everyone pisses and moans about it. Put a block of wood in the caliper, blow compressed air in it, take off dust boots, gently pry out piston. It was so simple it was dumb. And for 5 bucks, I figured it wouldn't hurt.

So I got out the sandblaster, went into the yard, and proceeded to blast the crap out of my rear hubs and all four rotors. After sitting in a japanese junkyard for who knows how long, then crossing an ocean, my rotors were bordering on crusty. But I took care of that in pretty short order, then rustoleum'd the hats.

This was the first time I'd used a sandblaster, so I trotted out there with my mask, shorts, and a t-shirt. 5 seconds later I went back inside, and came out looking like I was going to go ride some sandworms. But it all worked out, and I've only got a few sensitive areas on my arms.

Then I took a shower, (the first of three I'd take yesterday) dug sand out of places I didn't even know I had, and trotted on over to Wal-Mart to buy a 3.88 can of engine enamel and a 3.88 bottle of the reddest touch-up paint I could find...

And this is the result:

You can see my 5 lug hubs in the back there with brand new studs, and the gross looking thing with the cable sticking out of it is my drum parking brake. I'm hoping to do the whole conversion on wednesday if I can get some help. More wrenches make for short work.

Anyway, I just wanted to show off my bling.

Looking to borrow a trailer to help us move - the bigger the better. My planned tow vehicle is the Lightning - it has a Class III hitch (up to 5000lbs). Our target dates are really anytime after the 25th of June. I can pick it up and return it to wherever, whenever. Please post here if you can help us out. Thanks!
