I got my oil changed yesterday (by my long time mechanic) and I was driving home today and the "Maintainance Required" light came on. Any ideas? Does anyone have the "decoder thingy" for my car (or Honda)? Thanks.

If we were to have a Halo 2 tournament on campus I bet we could raise decent money and have a damned good time as well. I'm sure we could get 10-25 contestants if not more. If we charged maybe $8 entry fee we could at least give a good payout and have refreshments. What do you think?

Whatever side of the political spectrum you're on this episode of Crossfire is something to see. I'm glad someone else in prominence is tired of the partisan dramatized nonsense that dominates media and political discourse. I stopped by your meeting the other week, and have been super busy but I told you I would post some links to our rally effort. We are heading to LSPR this weekend (ileave today back sunday or monday)

We run in PGT class, similar to showroom stock in SCCA raod racing.
We are allowed to upgrade shocks and tires etc...ad roll cage, remove some interior items...for more class rules you can look at <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.scca.org">www.scca.org</a><!-- w --> and follow links to performance rally.

Engine wise we are allowed to run unlimited boost, but stock motor internals pistons, etc(no overboring) and stock intercooler and radiators as well.

The car we currently run is a 1988 Toyota Celica all-trac (AWD turbo 2.0 liter) we have four cars two are prepped fro rally, one PGT and one Open class, two for parts, one is stripped teh other is street car.

I leave in about two hours for teh drive and the weather forecast is for rain.

If you all want I can pull together some photos etc adn do a presentation at one of your meetings...just let me know. we may try to get teh car down here for the car show as well.

Our last event was Maine Forest Pro rally and we finished 3rd in class, after being penalized (18 minutes for cross drilled rotors) which bumped us from 1st in class to third. We had been running in NASA events which allowed cross drilled rotors. (we now have to car 100% legal for SCCA and NASA events)

We just got our car dyno-tuned by KTR performance near boston and we cranked out an additional 40 ft pounds of torque and 30 hp at the wheel. now at 173 whp and 192 ft pounds at the wheel. Franz at KTR managed to get power and torque to come in quicker at lower RPMs so throttle response is greatly imporved. check out their site if you like <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.ktrperformance.com">www.ktrperformance.com</a><!-- w --> they do fabulous fabrication and engine management work...

After being excluded from some other dyno day where OGs are somehow not members........... I'm making a true members dyno day. Anyone interested in using a dynopack 3000 .... 8 hours is $800 and we have unlimited hookups.... no restrictions from the shop. I'm heading back up to NoVa today (Tuesday the 19th) and while I'm up there I'm going to have a little chat with Brian at Ultimate (FWD, RWD, AWD, dynojet) and see what we can work out as far as having the club dyno our cars there sometime fairly soon.

So, lets pack together a date and an idea of who would truly be down.

My comments:

I do not want to do this any earlier than Friday, November 5th. Since I also plan on organizing this even - I think we can all agree to a date later than this.

I assume a friday, saturday or sunday (if Ultimate can accomodate us on a saturday or sunday) would be a preference for most of the club. Doesn't matter to me...I'm going to take whichever day we pick off.

There is going ot be a limited number of spots, probably around 12. First come, first serve (CASH IN HAND to secure the spot) with a choice of pull order is what I'd like to do.

I'd also prefer if we gave first shot to current club members...not hating on the ogs but I'm trying to do this for the current lineup. If we can't fill it up this way then ogs and friends can help round it out.

Questions I need answered are, those of you who are interested, do you need a/f readings? How would you like to set it up as far as # of pulls or amount of time on the dyno? I don't think very many of you are trying to tune so I figure 3 pulls a piece would work for all.

Anyway, kick it around...maybe talk about it at the meeting (I'll be in FFx). If you don't know what usual dyno rates are, they are between 85-100 so that will give you an idea....the entire point of doing a dyno day is to get a break on the price and I'm pretty sure we can do 75 bucks or less but I got to talk to them.

*Edit. Knowing that Ultimate Performance is located in Sterling, VA (1 hour and 45 speed limit driving hours away) would probably help out. This would be a day long affair...leave early, eat and talk shit while the cars cool down, dyno, eat and talk more/less (whichever is appropriate at this point) shit, drive home.
