Road Atlanta March 19-20
#1
I know a bunch of you have talked about going down to Road Atlanta for the NASA SE event the weekend of March 19th and 20th. I probably won't have a car that's track worthy at that point (still waiting on Cobetto to get the replacement E30 so I can get his), but I'll be heading down as well to see Ryan and spend the weekend at the track. What I'm gauging interest in, would be in heading down a couple of days earlier and hitting up Savannah for St. Patrick's Day. Anyone from down south knows that Savannah has one of the craziest St Paddy's Day parties. I've never been myself, however I have lots of friends that have, and they say it's something you gotta do.

My intention is to drive down a couple days early for the event, spend the 17th (St. Patrick's Day) in Savannah and then head to the track after that.

Ryan's already expressed interest, but I'm curious how many of you that are heading down would be interested in extending your weekend out a bit and experiencing the insanity that is St. Patrick's Day in Savannah.

St. Patrick's day is my birthday Smile We're planning on coming down for the track weekend anyway, but could probably be persuaded to extend the trip a few days Smile

Chan and I wanted to have everyone over for a party, perhaps Saturday night? The date is negotiable, but just thought I'd give ya'll a heads up on that. Also, we have a futon available for anyone who wants to crash here instead of at a hotel...of course, we are about 45 min from the track, but the offer stands.

hey, where's my harvey birdman avatar? grrr..

Maeng, Gerald, y'all thinking of extending out the weekend and doing St. Patrick's Day as well? Just need to get an idea on head count so I can make the proper hotel arrangements.

you guys should just party here, buckhead offers plenty to drink and a much higher likelyhood of being shot or getting in a fight.

Alright, I just registered for this event. We'll be coming down on Thursday afternoon - probably arriving for a late dinner (assuming the traffic isn't out of hand). Chan - can we possibly crash with you guys?

You'll be fine until you get to atlanta, then traffic will MOST DEFINATELY be out of hand.

Here's another question for you - how secure will my car be, on a trailer behind my truck? Is there enough room at your place to block it in effectively? I guess if the track is open for registration then it probably makes sense to drop it off first thing... We'll see I guess.

I dunno about chan's place but most of the apts around mine are vacant so there's plenty of parking - definately room for a truck/trailer for one night.

I've got a futon and plenty of floor space (have one air mattress as well).

our complex has been pretty secure, despite the almost always broken gates. There's often plenty of consecutive spots where you could get a trailer in.

i am going skiing at the end of the month so i will wait til then to sign up for this event. if i sign up now, i will break my leg or something which will be totally shitty. rj or chan and jess, would i be imposing if crashed at one of your places for the weekend? also, since i've never driven road atlanta, i'm gonna need an instructor for atleast the first session just so i dont seem completely lost...
