I'm going to be helping Chad's parents sell his 2004 Cobra. Let me know if you all know of anyone that is interested in one.
Matt, I sent you a PM about this too, but we would appreciate it if you could help us come up with a price.
2004 Mystichrome Cobra with 79k miles
I don't know everything done to it, but here are the basics:
Posi port eaton
2.92 pulley
bassani non catted x pipe with borla stingers
Some sort of mystichrome painted cold air intake
Dyno tuned (505rwhp)
Widened stock wheels (I think) with newish 315 NItto Nt05's on the back and Nitto 555's on the front.
FRESH built transmission good for 600hp, new flywheel and spec stage 2+ clutch as well. Plenty of documentation for this.
I literally drove this from the shop to his parents house yesterday, so it basically has no miles on it.
I don't have any current pictures, but I'll probably borrow the car to clean it up and take some soon.

I really hope whoever it goes to understands the importance of this car and lets us keep up with it.
If I didn't have to get a truck I'd totally be interested in this.....
Stephen, check your PM's...

Usually, I'd post some kind of Gif of Ron Paul, but I hope this means it may stay in the club.
I saw the PM, just haven't had a chance to stop by his parents and grab more pictures of it. I'm thinking I might be able to do that on Thursday.

How much are they asking? Has the suspension been upgraded at all?
I *might be in the market, these have always interested me, but I've never pulled the trigger on one, this might be the right time on the right car.
I think they want to start at $23k. You're welcome to come check it out whenever since you're close. His parents will be out of town until Monday evening, but I can give you their number to schedule a time to see it if you're interested. You won't be able to drive it hard since the clutch is brand new, but I drove it back from the shop that did the transmission and it shifted great.
I don't think there is anything done to the suspension. It still sets pretty high.
The car is overall in very good shape. The only two noticeable flaws are the paint fade on the one side scoop that is pictured and that mark on the passengers seat. I'm not sure if that would come out or not. I think I remember it being there since he bought it, but I'm not sure what all he tried to get rid of it.

This is a sane place to start, I'd probably be pretty please to get it for 19 or 20. Mistichrome is nice, but the miles are a hair high for "investment grade" stuff. Asking 23 as a starting point seems pretty fair.

For a car with a brand new built transmission and brand new clutch and fly wheel, I think it's definitely priced fairly.

From wiki..kind of interesting - does that still apply a dozen years later I wonder?
The paint is called "2004 Ford Mustang Cobra MystiChrome Metallic" and cost, at the time, about $150 per pint.[300] As the Mystichrome paint is still very expensive, any kind of exterior damage to the car is financially problematic. If a damaged Mystichrome Cobra requires repainting at a reputable Ford dealer's body shop, a Ford employee from Dearborn headquarters is required to bring the paint in person and supervise the usage of the special paint. The damaged car must be verified that it is a factory-built Mystichrome Cobra. Once the body shop is finished using the Mystichrome paint, all unused paint must be put back in the can and sealed, and the supervising Ford employee returns to Dearborn with the unused paint.

I kind of doubt it. The aftermarket cold air intake on it is painted the mystichrome color as well.

Maybe back in 04' Ford thought they were the only people doing chameleon paint jobs and tried to keep it that way? Seems a bit odd to have a guy hand deliver paint, but not do the actual painting. If you're going to fly someone around the country why not train them to do the actual work as well?

As I understand it this practice was carried out by Ford back when the cars were new and the repairs being performed were covered under warranty. At the time (mid 2000's) a variation of the Mystichrome paint was used in the process of making US paper currency so that allegedly, supposedly factored into the high cost of the paint and the overly cautious nature of which the paint was handled.
Sounds like Hi-End Auto offered $20k for it and will possibly beat other offers. I'm guessing they'll end up going with that.

Wow. That's a lot of cash for them to offer. I'd take that in a heartbeat, if they're offering that much you could maybe get more if you sit on it, but it's gonna be work.
