I too have never had any problems with blue painters tape. IF you do have reservations about using the tape then buy a bottle of the rub on shoe polish and put your numbers on your window, if they will let you? I've done that for a few auto-x's.

I have been autocrossing down where I live for the past 2 years and I'm interested in attending this one to watch, but I am a freshman and don't have a car. would anyone be willing to let me tag along with them, or is there a bus I can catch over to where you guys are racing? thanks

blue painter's tape FTW. Just don't leave it on a long time (months). I did for the SE-R to hold the sunroof seal in at the track and it has become an integral part of the sunroof (not that I really care since the seal isn't exactly pretty in the first place).
Hey Derek, the classins is set up by the SCCA dependent upon the car and any modifications that have been done. I assume you're driving your new Legacy in D-stock, which means that the SCCA has determined your car to be, in stock form, comparable in an autocross course to the other cars listed in D. If it makes you feel good, Ryan and I, in a non-turbo supra, are classed in F.

you can definitely get rides (although i know its not as cool as driving) and if the car is quick it's a real blast.

last time i auto-x'ed at richmond i got a ride in a 300 whp MR2....it was a, ah, eye opener.

I don't need to wax the car but I do need to adjust the RSB which I may or may not need an extra hand. Kind of doubt it but I'll let you know. When are you planning on detailing the Mitsu?
