Also, I'd like to add that I won HPDE1. Or, at least I won the "who will spin off the track first" award.

Nice to see all ya'll again! Maybe I'll be at VIR some time when it's not snowing or 100 degrees outside. Somewhere in between would be nice.

Congrats to Evan, RJ, and Chad! And Kaan for worker of the year!

Driving wise, it was a mediocre weekend full of bent metal. Regardless, it was good to see a lot of familiar faces excited to have started the 2006 season. Smile

Thanks to everyone for cheering me on in the SM race! We had a pretty good 12 car turnout in SM, and it felt great landing my first pole and first win. Bummer of the weekend was loosing 1 brand new toyo and 1 rain toyo to punctures. (after never puncturing a tire in 4+ years of doing this....)
there was also some post race drama in SM that thankfully got sorted out with the help of matt and sean (nasa registrar).

Ill have a full writeup, along with the race video, and qualifying in heavy snow later.

Jewels Wrote:Well yesterday it snowed, and today its so cold you can't feel any apendage after about 3 seconds outside. But Kaan has the heaters going in the Tech shed and its warm here in the timing and scoring booth, but I'm feeling bad for the corner workers this morning.

A damn good reason as any.

I got 4 badass sessions in the dry Sat/Sun, how many did you guys get?

VIR Full is the absolute best track ever. Pics soon.

Both Rgay and Chad passed their comp school (although Chad did miss one question on his written test). Neither RJ or Chad raced today.

I'm still looking for where in the CCR one could find that answer. Best I could get all weekend is, 'it's an unwritten rule' so only people who have worked corners would know the correct answer, but whatever. We still passed and missed the 1 question that apparently it was ok to miss. We didn't even _have_ to sit in a bucket.

I had a great time this weekend. First session in HPDE1, I counted three offs on the warmup lap. My first instructor stuck the rear end of his MR2 into the guardrail going through the uphill esses. It was a really exciting weekend.

RJ instructed me the second day and was great.
Chad's car looks better and better everytime I see it.
Pete found some new reasons to mod his Merkur.
It was great to see everyone again, and thanks to all the workers who froze their asses off for us to drive this weekend.
Two feet.

had a great time this weekend as well, and would talk more except for having to be at work in 7 hours. Also discovered a few things that need to be done to my car, but all in all, another awesome weekend at the track (except for the frigid cold).
