man, that should make you happy Chad. It means there will be an influx of cobra parts available. Can you put that supercharger on your new engine? If so, get on it, boy!

Damn. Makes me think twice about jumping in a F40 at a Ferrari Club event. What I kind of don't understand is why the GT had to swerve to miss the 360 coming down the straightaway. Unless pit out at Cali Speedway is on the racing line the 360 should have been offline as he pulled out. So either the GT was offline or the 360 pulled onto the line (or C. Pitout is on the racing line).
Either way, a rather freaky and unfortunate accident.

was reading a few posts and somebody made a very good point. From the appearance, that car was in no way safely prepared to travel 150+ mph. I don't see any harnesses, roll bar, cage, anything. It looks to be a bone stock GT. I got a little creeped out when I peg the speedo of the 240 at VIR. And that was only 110. Tack on another 50mph and I bet it feels like you are about to hit warp speed. Although it is a very sad occurrence and truly unfortuneate to lose another brother-in-arms who shares our passions, I would say that car and its driver were not prepared for the rigors it was enduring.

That car is probably stronger and safer than most of the IT cars running out there..... when you hit a wall head on at that speed, you die. Thats it. Done. Toast. No safety equipment is going to save you.
I rode in a 150-160 mph down the front straight at summit GT3 RS Supercup car (factory prep racer) last year and I would do it again.

understood RJ, I figured that car, if any, would probably be the most capable. However, I still believe that when you intend on driving at speeds like that, all precautions should be made. I totally agree that any kind of collision with an immobile object at that kind of speed would probably be the end of anybody or any car involved.
