I hate shopping for TVs.
Yes you should and at least 120Hz native refresh rate (so 240 "true motion" or whatever BS the manufacturer states.)

The Samsung one is a good deal too though. My friend just purchased the 6500 series and it's super nice and another friend has the 9000 and that's REALLY nice. You'll do well with the one you listed before.

They have it in store at Best Buy, prob check it out tonight after work before I pull the trigger....

It also says it comes with a $125 google play credit?!?!?!?

Pro Tip: There are several reputable online dealers that don't charge tax.

You're buying into a new format and will likely keep it 10 years. I would wait until Black Friday instead of forcing yourself to settle now.

I think you just described every piece of consumer electronics, ever.

Maybe Quickbooks online for $7/mo or something cheaper/freeer I don't know about?

This looks to be too targeted towards small businesses, with clients, tax, etc. What I really want is an online check register with the ability to categorize. Most people say they stop tracking it and just use their bank's website, but I have four main institutions, so that ain't gonna work. Bank websites also don't debit pending transactions, so it's not easily knowable how much money you actually have. I'm a lightweight Mint user, mostly so I can see total assets, so maybe I should dig more into that. At quick glance, it looks like you can add pending transactions.

Bummer, it definitely gets harder to track finances the more your money is spread around between institutions. I consolidated most everything years ago when Ben became our FA and that helped bring everything together under the BoA/Merrill dashboards. Just FYI, the BoA web platform and app do show debit and credit pending transactions pretty much immediately after they are charged. That is definitely super nice in terms of visibility. Not sure how big of a presence The Bank has out your way but I will give them credit for their personal banking and Merrill's wealth management...they are all on point in terms of technology and service at local bank branches here

We're pretty consolidated...

Well Fargo - checking, savings
BECU - testing out with child(care) checking and savings before leaving WF
Vanguard - 401k, Mutual Funds, Brokerage
Scottrade - stock market play money

I need to move Scottrade into Vanguard and will likely move all WF to BECU, so then I'd only have two.

Banks show available amounts assuming you initiate the transaction on their site (although WF requires you click into the account to see it - I want a snapshot of all). If I schedule a credit card payment on the CC's website, WF won't know there's a multi-thousand dollar transaction pending two weeks from now.

I see, yeah dump Wells they are trash for anything personal accounts related Tongue My experience with them for my mortgage was by far one of my best financial transaction experiences ever though. Merrill lets me import external accounts so I've got visibility into my mortgage and car payments / liabilities all in one place

My CC is through BoA too so I've got the leg up there. Since we buy everything we can on the CC to stack up points and pay it off every month, that gives me 100% visibility between checking/savings/cc on all outgoing payments every month

Google homes are cheap right now. eBay has them with a chromecast for $99 and everywhere else has them for $99 pretty much. Target has the Chromecast and the CC audio for $25 for like two more days. I might pick up two more audios just to have around. Maybe one cause I'm sure the price will drop again in the future. Maybe further. I'd like to get a CC to play nice with my home but I already have a fire TV and a firestick and that gives me everything CC does plus my prime shows or movie choices.

And although it'll change when we move. Comcast added Netflix and Pandora to their cable boxes so I just say Netflix to the Comcast voice remote now. Haven't used the the fire TV stuff since we got that.

I'm assuming the home will continue to stay low until the mark 2 comes out. I really want at least one more to put upstairs but I think I want to wait for the next gen to come out. Think the only thing they're really changing is adding wifi capability which would be nice to boost signal or use as the main source of it's fast enough.

Also not sure if it was this thread or the homeowners one but to Justin's plan with the tv outside.

Why couldn't you build a nice watertight (mostly airtight) cabinet and mount the TV in that. You could put a big Plexi panel on the front if you desired but even easier/cost effective and probably better looking both aesthetically and picture quality wise would be to put a cabinet door style front and just open (and unlock if you want security) when you want to use it

Because a cabinet meant for inside or anywhere for that matter is not water tight. It might shield it from actual rain drops but moister in the air is still going to get in and ruin the TV.

I said build bro...I'm not saying take a indoor tv cabinet. Its under an overhang so the tv would already be shielded from actual rain. The cabinet would be pretty easy to make mostly air tight. Glue the panels together would probably get you there. Some silicone around any openings for cords and even on all seams would make it better. Some thick weather stripping around the door and a latch style that applies pressure when the door is closed would seal it up the rest of the way...

Was the service that bad? Who'd you go with now?

As Google/Samsung have continued to push updates, I've grown increasingly more annoyed at my S7 Active, and my S7 Edge was hatefully bad. It's all the TouchWiz bullshit slowing the phone down, I think. Too many software bugs that should never make it to production level software.

Pretty curious to see what the 10-year-anniversary iPhone ends up being this fall, and what/when the Pixel 2 will turn out to be. Can't wait to rid myself of this S7, the camera is the only good thing about it... when it chooses to save the photo, that is.

Verizon + Pixel.

I had a few issues with Customer service. The Nexus5 bootloop thing was fucking bananas, and my Nexus 6 kept getting "stuck" on TMo...which doesn't have service everywhere here, and I had to go hunt for some wifi to fix it. It also kept dropping a wifi connection without telling me and slurping up data with the last update. My usage went from 2gb to 4gb a month with no change in my behavior...but after an update to the phone.

Ultimately $10 a gig is kind of a lot and the sprint/TMo idea only works as well as the shittiest provider in your area sooooooo :dunno:

Verizon has been fast, and my bill is now the same as what I was paying (post software update) but includes the payment on the Pixel AND is unlimited. Can't argue with that. Further, I have the N5 as a backup in case something goes haywire with the Pixel or if that doesn't work I have a lot more choices in handsets...for FI if I wanted a new phone it was "Spend 700 on a pixel or gfy". When the N5 was 349, that's a pill I can swallow but man google your service ain't good enough to drive me to shell out 700 for your flagship to run on it. Not when VZ is offering me unlimited for the same monies.

Saw an oled tv on display at Costco and holy balls. The display feed looked amazing. Idk how real TV and movies would look but I almost wanted to go into debt for the $3700 it cost. But I guess it can be a dream.

They also have last year's Vizio p series for $1500. Only difference is you'll have to use the included tablet to control the settings and stuff. New one doesn't have them. Since they ota update though, not sure if you can't access the menus with a universal. You used to have to use the tablet. Everything else is the same between 16 and 17. It was a 65" btw
