Jake Wrote:Obviously you would have the truck for that, but they are capable. The "suspension package" gets you Bilsteins and a LSD.
Dad's power hardtop doesn't leak at all and is very well insulated against rain and snow and whatever.
Between the RX8 and 350Z, I'd probably pick the Mazda - I tend to have an affinity for cars that are potential maintenance disasters... although I also just can't get too into the 350s. The 370 interests me way more but $$$.
Didn't look into an NC's so didn't know they had the package.
I was referring to the soft vert for how leaky they are. Don't think I want to wait and spend so much on a retractable hard top
And lol yeah 350Z isnt the prettiest or wow factor. They are mundane but honest cars. Sam has already told me all about them when I asked

Budget 8k. No Miatas or BMWs. Will be entertained by ridiculous finds but definitely won't buy them.
Prepare your entertainment!

For 8grand you get a very nice e36 m3 just saying.
How old a car can you handle? You can get an fc instead of the rx8 and be 1000x cooler. Talk to Greg and check the forums.
Infiniti g35 is the comfortable version of the 350z obviously
While we're on Nissan 240 and 300z. No one in MM has had a 300z yet.
Toyota has the mr2 and supra (flip up headlights gen)
Lexus is300, my personal favorite.
A not low mileage ap1 s2k, maybe
In fact, i have a really crazy idea you might think I'm crazy...just scroll back through this thread and read the previous suggestions lol

You could even get a car that's got safety, seats and is sorted through and still street legal for 8 grand. Check the nasaforums and stuff.

Just seeing if anyone can think of anything else that isn't a horrible idea like 60%-70% of the rest of this thread haha

the TT was John's, one of the original MM members. its long gone. something like 400hp, back when that was considered A LOT. i think after a couple track days the honeymoon phase wore out.

Yeah, Casey had the NA (in blue), which he sold for a G35 6-speed sedan.
Ryan, the soft-top NCs should be nice and watertight. Any newer soft-top will be good for a long time if you care for it. Occasional treatment of the rubber seals and cloth will help. My new M3 is a 2006 and can be taken through an automatic car wash without leaking a drop.

Damnit, I don't need a Miata, I don't need a Miata, I don't need a Miata.... I guess I'll go drive a Z and NC. Two totally different cars so it shall be interested.

Why are you so scared of BMWs? I don't think any of us have had any absolutely horrific stories with them. My most unreliable car was a Nissan and considering the cars I've had, that's saying something.

Wat? Most 06-07s are in the 8-10k with a wide range of trims/options. Not sure why they've depreciated so much as I was surprised too.

...a low-ish mileage 2006? AutoTrader
Something tells me a 2006 Corvette would be a bit more money and you're thinking he'd be okay DDing a C4.

And if I want e46 it will be an M3 which is no where near the range
Edit: not to mention I don't want to do everything everyone else does or wants

Hey man, anything that begins as genius and grows to be legend won't be the easiest to stock parts for.
