I'm intrigued by it, but I wasn't impressed with the coverage map. I'm sure I'd be fine most of the time, but I spend so much time on planes these days that I'm skeptical I'll get decent service in all the places I'd need it.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Yeah if you need Verizon coverage then you need Verizon coverage. That is, after all, why you pay them so much.
The cool thing about Fi I guess is that if it does suck for you you just...stop using it. go somewhere else.

I'm half considering one as a work/travel phone. The Fi eligible phones are the only Androids approved for Amazon corporate mail* and I'm not a fan of paying $30 for one month of international texts and 120 mb every time I go overseas. That said, I don't really need another phone number. Anyone know if you can de/activate at will?
*I currently use a Lumia 635 Go Phone on wifi only. :?

I can't decide if sprint's coverage sucks, or their overall bandwidth just sucks. I am square in their coverage 4G LTE map, but I only get about 2-8Mbps. Verizon 4GLTE in my area is 15-50mbps depending on the time of day. I switched to sprint because its fast enough to stream a movie, but if I needed actual speed, verizon had it over them by far. It was also way more expensive though.

Sprint is absolute garbage. It was the best move I ever made switching to Verizon. My wife and I would be in the same room with Sprint (she had AT&T) and she would place calls and texts to me that would never go through. Call quality was miserable. We were in a major hot spot for Sprint too. They haven't been able to keep up with the infrastructure like Verizon. Also if you do any traveling for work or otherwise Verizon is by far the best choice. My Verizon hotspot (separate from the phone) is strong enough in most areas I go for me to game on! I regularly raid with our crew in Destiny from hotel rooms all over the country with my hotspot and a Gaems box.
I get saving money, and frankly I am a little jaded because work pays for most of my cell bill, but even when it wasn't I was gladly willing to spend the extra whatever $ per month for Verizon. Your cell phone is the one thing you keep on you and use almost 24/7, you can definitely pick other places in your life to pinch pennies (like damn cable / satellite TV bills).

So vzw deal on the s7/s7 edge. Preorder by the 18th and get a gear s2 or gear vr. The s2 is probably way more useful although I don't like you can't change it to a metal band. Also, I think you have to pay $5 a month for "connected" devices

Yea it's nice to get something for free but honestly for something I'm going to be holding in my hand and using every day I don't think a preorder makes sense before I can actually wrap my hands around each one

I'm trying to find out more information on all of it but of course, vzw being vzw it's a huge run around and nothing is listed in clear terms. I may head up there this weekend to switch plans because the salesman neglected to mention our old plan is costing us more than a new larger plan when we upgraded my dad's phone a couple months ago. We also asked for the same insurance and he upgraded it to the one with tech support or some shit. I finally got my hands on an itemized bill and saw the breakdown yesterday so I need to fix all that.
Online, it doesn't say the watches cost per month unless maybe you do the payments instead of paying upfront. The "connected device" they give an example for is some sort of GPS ping thing to give to a kid so you can track them or something Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Make sure you look at your VZW bills very carefully. When Emily went and got a her iPhone 6 (without me present) I thought everything was good. I checked out our bill and realized we were paying $5 per month for VZW Navigator - who the fuck actually uses that and pays for it? Google Maps is free and better - and $11 a month for insurance she did not sign up for. Shady phone companies be shady.

Yea we almost always have an issue on the bill after in store visits. We wanted the same insurance we had which was $8 or $9 and I checked and they upgraded us to the $11. And I specifically asked the guy if switching to the new style of plan would be beneficial and he said no. Which I guess is true, it's not beneficial for them to have to give me 14gb for less than I pay for 10. And I do use quite a bit of data using GPS for work and forgetting to turn WiFi back on after turning it off at home because if you remember our new modem and router suck and I'm not sure how to fix it still.
But anyways, also getting fed up with the phone company games. "Hey, we came out with this program where you pay per month for your device cost and after a year, you can trade it in for an upgrade" ok cool. Go back a year later, hey now when you upgrade, you pay for device by the month but you're not going to get shit until you pay it all the way off and then you can start the process over. Yeah we haven't moved onto one of the phone "lease to own" programs. I bought my wife the new Note and just paid for it outright after an upgrade credit and trade allowance for her busted S4. I'll probably do the same for mine. They let us grandfather in our 4GB plan (plenty for us since we're always on wifi / air card).

The worst part about the barely visible hairline fracture on my screen is it costs me ~$200 in trade in. :-(
