Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post

Cautiously optimistic after loving Borderlands so much! Never thought I would "get into" cartoony style games but it must be burnout from the myriad realistic shooters I have played over the years with very little graphic and gameplay innovation. 25 playable characters tho! Wow

Well I finally accomplished something last night that I have wanted to do on Destiny for a while: solo the Crota raid start to finish. The previous attempts were actually one of the reasons I quit for a while, due to the bugginess in the raid / boss fight and the game in general (sometimes Gjallarhorn doesn't break off into wolfpack rounds for some reason). Anyway I gave it another shot now at level 34 and almost got him in two swords...my sword disappeared mid swipe literally on the last hit to kill him! It's a little bittersweet that I did it at the new level cap and not the old one, but on easy mode I'm not doing any more damage than I do as a level 32 anyway, I just have a little more dmg protection. I didn't get a video of it or anything, I was just glad I finally beat the boss fight on normal mode. I'm not even going to attempt it on hard, but I have soloed through to the Ir Yut portion on hard mode before.

House of Wolves / Prison of Elders definitely seems like an afterthought now that I've had a chance to beat its end game content as well. I found myself liking it only because it was finally something new to do. I do like that you can bring your old gear up to the new damage / armor cap (365dmg Fatebringer and Gjallarhorn are pretty much king) but I think I can pretty much walk away from the game for a while again. I got a new exotic weapon quest that is a random drop from the highest level PoE event so I will probably crush that out and ascend a few more weapons so that I am set for the next expansion. Ironically, for the most part the weapons from the Vault of Glass (first raid) are still some of the best in the game...I got the queen's shotgun "Her Courtesy" and even after rerolling its perks it is maybe right on par with Found Verdict once they're both maxed out. I can confirm that an ascended 365 Found Verdict is a BEAST

Not sure how old of news this is but with the announcement of backwards compatibility coming and the option for the Logitech g29, i may at some point be looking into an XB1.

Ps4 is getting the g29 too, but it looks like the Xbox one will also work with the pc so gives more versatility and I've been more of an Xbox person since the first 360 even though I don't think I've touched a video game in 6 months to a year.

Still cautiously optimistic about The Division, pretty excited about Dishonored 2, although no gameplay. As long as they maintain the aesthetics and mechanics of the first, but with PS4/Xbone power we'll be good to goooooooo.

Kind of excited for the Uncharted series remaster, since I didn't have a PS3, but so far my only Must Buy is Fallout 4.

edit: Also, we'll see how Deus Ex looks too. Really loved DE:HR, the next one could be great.

Yeah Battlefront looks pretty damned fun but I'll definitely wait until well after launch before buying any DICE game.

I must admit that having Admiral Ackbar as your guide during one of the co-op missions was hilarious/awesome. Now all it needs is a Porkins cameo.

Got to catch up with the family while in nova this weekend. Among many other awesome reasons for visiting my mom, finding pieces of your childhood at her place is one of my favorite. I dug up my old Sega Genesis and original PS1 with a bunch of games! Gonna hook these up in my man cave and see how they play on the big screen, and relegate them to the office if they don't look good (my N64 looks weird on an HD TV). SCORE!

Quite funny, but I have to say I'm disappointed that so many of the wrecks disappear just like in earlier versions. You already have a gajillion polygons out there, what's a few more. :dunno:

hey people, long time since I've MM'd, but I've kept up with some of you via FB.

just saw Lee post on FB regarding Destiny. i recently started playing it again and have caught that obsession bug for a little while in anticipation for the TTK expansion (not 100% sure I'm getting it yet). If anyone's playing Destiny for PS4 hit me up for any Raids, Trials, or whatever. I'm usually on with a buddy of mine, but since it's just two of us we're limited in the 3-man fireteam stuff (never done Crota or VoG because of this).

Also, i second that Rocket League is fun. I downloaded it when i saw it and it's been pretty addictive, too. I'm curious to see how Metal Gear Solid 5 is going to play out since that was released today.

I can solo the whole Crota raid, so you and your buddy are welcome to join me some time when you see me online. Trials are cake too we can get you through 34, 35 is doable but if you have never beaten it before prepare to put a few hours into it. The rewards for it are pretty average too so it can be tough to convince people to do it. Every now and then we will also do a Vault run for nostalgia. Someone should send him a clan invite
