March 21-23: NASA at VIR

We're still a buncha' weeks away from this, but figured I'd start the usual thread of roll call, food discussion, and relentless nagging and shit-talking to get more students to come out and get rides or do a Hyperdrive.

When: March 21 (competition school, open practice), March 22-23 (full weekend of racing, TT and HPDE)
Where: VIR, aka the happiest place on Earth. About 2.5-3 hours from JMU

Hyperdrives are held that Saturday, are only $50 and a great way for current MM students to get out on track and run their car instead of their mouth :mrgreen: Make sure to register early to guarantee a spot. If you're feeling spendy, a full HPDE weekend (classroom and track driving with instructor) is about $400.

We can coordinate hotel floor space for students who want to come spend the weekend playing with cars and drinking free beer.

I'll be in TTD and running pace car per usual. Who's in?

If you're a student and not feeling spendy, but want to hyperdrive in a car that's not yours, talk to me. I have spots in out e46 racecar for roughly $150.

I think we're in for that weekend. Rex is most definitely in. I'm probably in. No Hannah though, she's not really good with the quiet thing these days.

Maybe in. Thought about bringing Max since it'll be cold enough where I wouldn't mind staying in a tent but :dunno: yet. I would also need to trick some of the newbies or Casey into watching him. He loves meeting people though so it'd be fun to bring him. I wish my job didn't require me to be essentially on a live track the entire day Le Sigh. Maybe I'll wait and bring him for a visit on a summit weekend if I can ever come and not work, like that'll happen :lol:

You have one spot. There's only one hyperdrive a weekend broseph and they aren't long enough to rotate out drivers. Also, I'm assuming that doesn't include the cost of the hyperdrive itself?

I meant spots for any weekend really. And yes it does include the cost of the hyperdrive.

If you haven't been before, do it. Spectating in this sense means walking around looking at cars from ranging from e36s to Porsches to the occasional lamborghini and ferrari, getting ride alongs, and drinking beer from sun up to sun down.

Also, I was about to offer the M3 up for a Hyperdrive session, but then I realized it only has one seat right now... dammit.
