I guess you could say that this event was similar to the BMW Drive for the Susan G. Komen foundation. But with the Taste of Luxury, Lexus was attempting to sway potential buyers to purchase their vehicles. That is why they provided the Cadillac XLR, Mercedes-Benz S430, and Land Rover Range Rover HSE for folks to drive. So they could do their own comparo to see how the SC 430, LS 430, and LX 470 compared to them respectively. I ended up going to this by myself, I asked both of my friends from GMU to come but they had homework the day that the event was being held. I asked my dad as well, but he was working a 13 hour shift at Fairfax Hospital. So I was like: "What the hell, I am not going to let this past me up...." I left Da Field at about 2:30pm and got to FedEx about 3:15, I got slightly lost in the Largo area but it was all good. The entrance that I came in near FedEx was adjacent to the event but all the traffik going around FedEx is traveling counterclockwise and I had to drive the around the WHOLE DAMN perimeter of the stadium, when I got to the parking area, I could hear the acceleration of engines and the screech of tires looking for grip. I soon as I saw the XLR, I was like "DAMN"(Got to find a parking space real quick).

As I was walking through the parking lot I saw many Lexuses, people drive here in a Lexus to drive Lexuses, and then leave in lexuses. I guess they love Toyota. Oh I also saw a beautiful blue S4. When I entered the makeshift reception area, it was plush, I gave my name to a dude with a computer and I got my name tag(which I wore all day), then I preceded to one of the four large sitting areas to get a synopsis from a female about what we were about to engage in. She indicating the three areas of driving:

Performance Luxury Drive Course(PLDC)
Luxury Drive Course(LDC)
Luxury SUV Drive Course(LSDC)

As I studied the demographics of the people, there were many older couples there, and a rich bitch here and there. This was a 21+ event, so hang tight freshmen and sophomores, you'll have your fun.

We were first lead to an area that looked similar to a carshow setup. There was a SC430 up on a stage with "Desire." on the wall. They also had a BRAND NEW RX400h, this would be Lexus' first hybrid. It had a beautiful turquoise flake paint that just glistened in the low light. They also had an audio section introducing their new Mark Levinson sound system. Along with free cappucino. After going through the car show setup I went straight for the PLDC. They that they did it was they separated the cars out in sections, like this:

PLDC:
Lexus IS300
BMW 330ia
Infiniti G35

Lexus GS430
BMW 545ia
Mercedes-Benz E500

Lexus SC430
Jaguar XK8 Cabriolet
Cadillac XLR

I first drove the IS300(automatic, everything was automatic) . The course that they had set up gave the driver a straight away a few tight turns and some swerving techniques. But, they wanted people to keep it at 25 mph, when you could have driven the whole course at 40 mph. I overheard a young fella talk about being reprimanded. Each run lasted about 1.5-2 minutes. Sometimes I took it a little slow because the runs went SO FAST :x :x . I then drove the G35 and BMW 545ia.

If y'all don't know I have a soft spot for big Luxocruisers, Mike can attest to this. So I then went to the LDC. XLR line was WAAAy to long. Cry Which was set up in this way:

Lexus LS430
BMW 745i
Mercedes-Benz S430

Lexus GS300
BMW 530ia
Mercedes-Benz E320

Lexus ES330
Acura 3.2TL <--------HONduh y0
Mercedes-Benz C320

I first drove the LS430, OMGHi2U, LOL, JESUS CHRIST this car was amazing, leather was soft as a vixen's bosom. GPS the works. Good God man! I drove it slow so that I could feel the vehicle to the best of my ability. The cherry wood steering wheel was to die for. After this I jumped in the BALLER's whip the BIG OLE' landyacht----> S430. This was nice also, with some 18" 5 spoke AMG wheels. I ragged on this one a little more, slamming on the gas when it was my turn to tackle the modest course. After this I went to the bathroom. Damn they were the nicest bathrooms evaRRRR. Wood and green walling everywhere. I then went to get a bite to eat for free with my meal voucher, it was nice food, turkey, roasted pepper sandwiches, and gourmet cheese, and brownies. After this I went back to the PLDC and drove the SC430. I made this car squeel, using to the best of my ability the 4.3L V8 with 300hp. Although I hate SUVs I went over to the LSDC to go drive the X5, it was very slow over there, they just took you over a few dirt mounds and then a larger dirt mound, nothing to get your panties in a knot about.

After finishing with the X5, and the M%^$A F^%$IN clouds opened up and it felt like tornado force winds, chairs were getting knocked over the tents were swaying back and forth. A guy over the PA says: "the lexus event is officially over." (Here's your sign) So I filled out a survey and then got a parting gift.

Cliffnotes: READ my DAMN synopsis it is good. IS300 is now on Feersty's short list.

P.S. I will get some pictures on here, just got to resize them to 800 pixels
