I considered one of those, but most of the reviews are awful.
Since you have a GS3, a mirrorlink head unit would probably be much better. Sony, jvc and Alpine make them iirc
would you really get more use out of that than just doing pandora over bluetooth anyway?

I see no use for that. As said by others, just blast pandora over Bluetooth if hats your thing. Since I got my new car I just load up my old iPod video with all my music and leave that in the car all the time.

More so looking for the google maps nav and hand free talking. Other nav units require you to purchase new maps and Pandora sucks balls by the way.
Agreed on pandora. Speaking of google maps, anyone else using it on the iPhone? I haven't been able to get the voice directions to work and can't figure out where the setting is hiding.

Get rid of your iPhone. Problem solved

fumbling around with your phone while driving sucks, and isnt safe.
putting everything on a big screen with big buttons at least sucks less.

Once you select a route, it should be on the expandable menu on the bottom right corner.

Ok, I'm looking to go Android. HTC One or Samsung S IV?
I'm leaning towards HTC One since it looks better put together and may potentially have a better camera. The S IV's smart scroll and smart pause seem like cool features but not really anything I'd miss. Samsung does have some services that come with the phone but I'm not sure I'd need there either.
Does anyone have experience with the TouchWiz vs Sense UI's?

I rooted the Kindle Fire and it's running on Jelly Bean now. It's like, a real tablet now. I guess I lost a few features specific to Amazon but nothing I was using.
I was a little worried because all the instructions I found were for up to 4.3.1 and I was on 4.3.2 which was rumored to have root detection. During the root though there was a little blurb that said it was attempting to remove root disable or detection. It paused there for a ,minute or two but continued on and was successful!
It's getting a lot more use now.

Ive always like HTC, Ive had several of their phones and I even like Sense. But I think the HTC One is a half step behind. Smaller screen, small battery, no real software improvements. Doesnt even have wireless charging like some of their phones from last year did and going to a 2 button layout is a deal killer for me, but maybe not as much if youre coming from iPhone. Only thing it appears to have over gs4 is style/aluminum construction.
Ive never liked samsung smartphones but Im pretty impressed with the GS4, at least on paper. They managed to give it a bigger screen and battery but the same or smaller in all dimensions. A lot of software improvements and wireless charging. Build will probably be a little plasticky like the GS3 and styling generic. Never been a huge fan of touchwiz.
IMO GS4 takes the fight pretty handily on paper.
Another phone to consider if you can wait until Google IO is the new Motorola X. Thats the one Im waiting for and if it lives up to expectations and beats GS4 then Ill be hooking one up to Verizon's network when it comes out.
If the HTC has worse battery life that might be enough to sway it for me. I thought I had read there were a couple of neat things the new Sense UI could do but I don't remember so it couldn't have been that important. The wireless charging isn't a big deal for me, I guess I'll wait till I can try both of em out at the AT&T store.
Yeah I wasn't sure if something was gonna come out at I/O so I was wondering if I should wait. If Motorola is dropping something new then might as well wait.

Thats the rumor, but who knows if it will actually happen. Google has complained rather loudly that ever since buying them they have to blow through Moto's product pipeline before google can start influencing the products so who knows if that will be now or later.
Either way I/O is only a couple weeks after the GS4 hits retail so its not too bad of a wait just to see.
One thing I like about moto is that they really focus on battery life and build quality.
