Everyone is always talking about how awesome the FB for iOS is?
They've made it fancy looking, but it's a buggy piece of shit. It crashes at least half the time I use it. Until recently, when you opened a notification it'd send you to a completely different post/picture/etc.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Played with a Kindle Fire a bit. I personally think 7" is too small, unless you're using it for a "walking around" tablet. The interface is slick though.

Picked up a Kindle Fire, had to take the first one back, had a single dead pixel. No biggie but it was brand new, so took it back to Best Buy.
So far I really like it. Good size, quick to respond to commands. Only complaints are the "carousel" which displays the most recent apps, books, websites etc. Kind of annoying wish I could set what it displays. Also the app choices in the amazon market for the Fire, but many apps are compatible can be sideloaded to the Fire if you pull the .apk off your phone. Will root this thing as soon as a good ICS Rom is available. So far, so good.

Got in my Blackberry Playbook yesterday. After about 20 minutes of playing around with it, I think its a really solid tablet. The hardware itself is very well built, thin, solid and reminds me of the galaxy tab. Screen is fantastic, best Ive seen on a tablet. Touchscreen is very responsive. The OS is good, very fast and snappy, almost as good as WebOS for usability and it does have proper multitasking, app switching, and gestures which makes a big difference. web browser is very good. much better than android and ios for sure. 2 bad points are the power button was not engineered well, it sits flush and doesnt have much spring to it. (however i just discovered you can skip the button and just turn on with a screen swipe and turn off with a icon) and the downright hilarious lack of apps. there isnt even a built in native email client if you arent using BBM. next version of the tablet OS is supposed to fix this and offer android app compatibility.
as I expected, I really like the 7" size. its much more portable than the 10" and its still readable and usable for web and videos. havent done any extended typing or emails yet but the keyboard is very good.
i need to play around with a kindle fire to compare since they are currently the same price. i may return the playbook if the fire is comparable, it seems to me that it has a better future

My Touchpad will have ICS in like a month. First alpha just released so a stable Alpha should be done within about a month. Hopefully this one will actually make it to Beta as the GB builds seem to just go to alpha most likely due to the fact that they were waiting for ICS code to release

we put ICS on a work touchpad and its ok. much better for sure, but it still 'feels' like an open source OS (even though its developed privately) and lacks the polish and usability of webos, playbook OS or ios.
and for fucks sake, can somebody make an android podcast app that doesnt suck? eighty brazillion apps dont make a damn bit of difference when they all suck.

What parts in particular lack polish? For me, the biggest thing that detracts from the UX is the way Android doesn't give the UI thread highest priority, so sometimes the scrolling hiccups if something else is competing for processor resources. I suspect this will become less noticeable with more powerful hardware but for now it's somewhat irksome.
