Well, I found GTA IV fun, just not long term fun. I think for the GTA series to move forward they've got to add more variety to your progression in the game. At first doing jobs is cool, and you can use your money to buy guns, clothes, safehouses and what have you, but pretty soon you've bought everything you want and doing extra jobs really just amounts to running errands. As you gain status you should be able to do bigger things, put out hits, become a pimp, bribe the police, take over drug turf, take collection money, etc.
I'm curious to see what Rockstar does for GTA V, I hope it's something innovative.

Wait one minute, there is a story in the GTA franchise. I thought that game was just about being a total badass, stealing cool cars, runnning from police, and then creating epic last stand scenarios with said police

are you talking modern gta or original gangster shit? like.... 1996 on your pc? because that shit was the bomb. i hacked all the cars to be supercars. would fly all over the city causing mayhem... probably plyed it religiously for a couple years, but never completed a single mission
