It does not, but I haven't put the gun in a holster since I bought it, even the one it came with. It sits in a finger safe in my house and comes out only to go to the range.

Looks nice Lee! I'd love something like that for a home defense piece, but I couldn't carry it around for concealed carry.

I'm looking for some opinions. When I bought my pf9 I gave my mom my ruger lcp to conceal in her purse/carry when she walks and such. Well she's getting a little older and she has trouble loading the magazine and also has trouble pulling back the slide to chamber a round. I'm looking for some ideas on a low priced .380 or .38 revolver she can conceal. She has a S&W .38 Special but it's way too big to carry around. Thoughts? I love my Ruger GP100, anyone have any experience with the LCR? Rex need not reply with his disdain for Ruger, I've heard it all before.

I've softened my hate for Sturm & Ruger, it's mostly relegated to their semi auto rifles and pistols.

Comparing the LCR with the S&W Bodyguard (both in .38) the LCR is a fine revolver, but I was really impressed with the feel and trigger of the Bodyguard. It's definitely worth looking at if you're thinking of something in that series. They're the same size, similarly priced, and both have polymer frames. I really liked the cyl latch on the bodyguard.

I bought it as a "last resort" intimidation factor if someone kicks in my door.
- The strobe light is extremely disorienting (I tested it on myself)
- The light obviously gives me an advantage if I'm in a situation at night
- The green laser is MUCH brighter than a red laser
- It is visible even in broad daylight, at night time it's like a damn light saber in the air
- I have been practicing with the "iron" sights for the past month and a half so I feel confident without it, but in a high pressure situation I want to be damn sure there is no error as to where the bullet is going

So yeah, the light / laser combo along with the sound of the slide cocking hopefully would be enough to nonviolently deter someone in my house before I had to pull the trigger. I bought this gun to be a tool...as much as I like the way it looks and I enjoy shooting it at the range, at the end of the day I bought it as a means of defense.

I don't, just because I don't know why. I guess I just don't feel comfortable having a round chambered when I'm pulling the pistol in and out of the safe.

I can see the benefit to it, but it's just a weird peace of mind thing for me.

You guys will eventually come to the conclusion. Especially for automatics. What if your weak hand is incapacitated? In a recent defensive shoot in Ohio, a case of mistaken identity meant an armed citizen had to defend himself with lethal force. He had to fight off his assailant with one hand while he retrieved his firearm with the other from the console of his car. Had he not had a round in the chamber, he would have been unable to defend himself from his crack-addled attacker.

So, two lessons here:

#1: A gun in the hand is worth two in the safe. (or car center console)
#2: A round in the pipe is worth 10 in the mag.

I'm with Rex. The revolver I keep beside the bed has .357 bullets in every cylinder hole. The 9mm I carry on my person has a full magazine and one in the chamber at all times. If your not going to keep one in the chamber may as well just have it as a show piece.
