Skyline Drive Cruise (from H-burg) & BBQ

Just a heads up for everyone, on Sunday, September 14th we'll be having a Skyline Drive cruise, leaving from Harrisonburg at 11am.

Jeff was kind enough to offer his new house in Woodstock to us for a joint housewarming/MM gathering BBQ. We'd love to have people come out from other regions as well to join us, it'll be a great venue to enjoy this fabulous scenic road with great food and friends afterwards. So come out and join us in Harrisonburg for the trip!

Below is the proposed route: (from Hburg) 33 East to Skyline Drive, north on SD to Front Royal, then west to Route 11 and south to Woodstock. We'd then arrive sometime in the afternoon, cookout/meet&greet and then hit the highway home.

I got a pass a few months ago. Its something like $15.00 / week or $30.00 / year...

I was just on Skyline Drive last weekend and it was beautiful up there. Too bad the miata is too low to be able to see over the little rock wall. :roll:

Not sure on the felony part but my experience is they patrol it like no one's business.

Never had a problem, went on a dcevoclub cruise through there and I Dont think our speed ever went below 80 mph, and im not sure how fast we were going but the porsche kept topping out 4th gear.

Like, winning the lottery lucky haha. If it's a state park you have to answer to a federal judge which is a huge pain. It's not a felonly for your everyday speeding ticket though.

I think we were just going quick enough that it was a quick drive.

Madison Motorsports cruises arent like these, its much more relaxed as we also have to worry about our reputation. Thats why I do the car forum's drives, and then just enjoy the scenery on MM cruises.

it's not a felony, it's a federal crime - different court system and they're not as lenient there with much harsher penalties. i got pulled over by a park ranger going 42 in a 35 and the officer informed me, but didn't write me a ticket.

i wouldn't speed - be careful
