cold air box i made...needs a few minor tweaks, gonna drill some holes in the box and have the filter adapter plate bolt through the box, for a better fit, also gotta find the Factory SMIC ducting to better attach the ducting going to the box.

Closed the hood and had a fan blowing into the duct, let the engine warm up and then took some temperature readings. Saw temp difference between 10-15 degrees. Measuring with the laser on the filter and outside the box on the MAF box.

Seems like it works, i was reading temps in the mid 80s while cruising instead of temps in the higher 90s like before i made this thingy.

Update on another eclipse, alternator died, turned out was a remanned from advance auto, so im defecting it and getting a new one free....HUGE THANKS TO JEFF Morrison in Woodstock as my car died in woodstock and he let me use his father's shop in a desperate situation. Thank you!

Anytime man, I'll try not to grind any gears next time(and with a DSM, there will be a next time :wink: )...first gear in that car is a bitch.

lol I dont know why you have trouble, I dont think I have ever grinded a gear except once or twice when I was quickshiftng into reverse. I think your just use to the awesome van leverage. Its alright, I understand the liability that you had to drive the car onto the lift.

Hey...at least you got to do an oil change and wash your car by the time I got done replacing that alternator. The next dave's bill (for Jeff only you freaks) is on me man!

Tha talon swirlies are gonna have cheaper tire but im still in the air for which wheel, also what All-seasons shoudl i get, im looking from something with pretty good snow/ice traction.

Did you figure out that the Talon rims will clear your brakes?

The gunmetal ones off the RS look pretty nice and will be closer to stock specs...

why not do summer tires and SNOW tires instead of summers and all seasons? might as well have the absolute best tires for the conditions instead of a jack of all trades for winter.

i like the fakevans but the swirlies would be best for a narrower snow tire.

Cause there are more choices for All Seasons at cheaper prices than there are Snow tires. Plus it doesnt snow that bad around here. But im still open to running "winter" tires instead of all seasons if you guys can give me some suggestions on tires. Im prob gonna stick to the swirlies since the tires will be cheaper, and i can possibly sell the wheels off the RS so i dont think ill run those incase i bang em up.

So how bout suggestions on Tires???

yeah sorry to get off topic but i just thought i'd suggest it since you'll have a dedicated set of wheels for each now. might want to ask Jay about winter tires, he had blizzaks on his Si and i swear to you that car was unstoppable in snow, 3 inches of ground clearance or not. it made me a believer in dedicated snow tires.
