Gasoline credit cardz
#1
So, I own a landscaping business and I spent $600 in gas last month. It's about time to invest in a gasoline credit card since that's an absolutely ridiculous amount of money.. So tell me what you have, what percentage back you get, if you'd recommend it. So far I've found a chase card that gives 3% back. I mean, is there any disadvantage to getting one? I've had the same old credit card for two years now and I receive no benefits. I will pay off the card in full every month.

I know Sheetz offers a credit card where you can get a certain amount of cash back on gas purchases, but it's only at sheetz. I'm not in harrisonburg so I don't have access to the paperwork, but you can stop in at any of the sheetz and they can give you a pamplet with all the info.

$600/mo? That's about my gas bill per month and I don't own a business Smile

Read the fine print. A lot of CC that offer stuff don't give it to you unless you carry a balance. So the 3% that they "give back" is negated by the 10%APR that's charged on you balance. I've never tried this but if you purposely paid your bill minus 1 cent, you're technically carrying a balance and the interest is nominal.

Discover gives cash back and I don't think they require you carry a balance.

We have a Shell Mastercard, and we get a percentage back, even though we never carry a balance. I think it usually works out to $20 - $30 a month.

We have a discover, it gives us 10% cash back on gas...up to 1500 in purchases. (So that's a max cash back of 150 bucks.) After the 1500 cap, it's 3%. Still not bad, but not 10%. Sad

i've got a citicard. i think it gives 2% on gas, groceries and bills. i think tis 0% balance transfers for a year, maybe a $250 gift card if you sign up and maybe some other thing if i refer you. (hint, hint)

you should look into getting one of those small business cards i always see advertisements for

5% cash back on gas is what I usually see. They also have cards without the cash back cap. You just have to dig for them and read the fine print. Amex or Discover might be your best bet.

Amex blue cash does 1% on everyday purchases .5% on other things and after you spend 6500 total, its 5% on everyday purchases and 1% on everything else.

The only problems I've ever had is with podunk run-down peice of shit "Oh my god I need gas" gas stations. Anything with Pay at the Pump will accept Discover.

United Airlines Visa for me.

I've never had anything but Visa and I can't see why anyone would bother.
