NASA Auto-X [VMP - 5/13/07]
#1
Another VMP event with NASA the week after graduation. I'll be at this and was wondering if anybody else wanted to join in? Its a little more expensive but the extra runs and fast course is definitely worth it.

You have no idea how bad I want to go to Hyperfest. Sad This will have to suffice my need for speed until July.

Felton, what is it with the Mother's Day autocrosses? This is like, what, the third year in a row? I'd love to go stretch the MS3's legs, but my dear mother would straight up poison my drinks if I went to (another) autocross on Mother's Day.

Well there were no VMP events at all in '06, so *any date* they offered us for '07 we said "yesplease" to... holiday or not (we're running Easter, mothers day, and fathers day.) My fear is that if we said "no thanks" to anything they offered, they would take it personally and not offer us so many dates in '08. So maybe we'll have a few not-quite-full events down there this year on non-favorable dates, but at least that's better than nothing (and hopefully we will continue to get first choice in '08 as a result.)

The "MOTHERCROSS" is currently 1/3 full and is capped at 60 cars to guarantee lots of runs for anyone who can make it. Driving heat 1 & working heat 2 means someone could be "in by 10, out by 4" no problem. Personally, I'll be taking my mom out to dinner instead of brunch.

Sorry,

Jon

what's the problem? Just take your mom to the autocross! Two birds, one stone.

His mom would love an autocross. The problem would be explaining to his dad who is a pastor that the 3 of us need to skip church for one. That's where the real problem is.

Hey, he's a pastor, he's a walking "church" as long as he can round up a couple of other Christians. I'm sure there will be a few there. God can hear your prayers over open exhausts.

Anybody else going to join in? Last time I checked there were quite a few spots still remaining. If its anything like the 'Eastercross', you get enough runs to tire you out.

My Integra won't be ready for this, but I'd love to come watch, maybe ride with someone, my mother is 1,200 miles away so I'm sure she won't mind me not visiting.

There are only like 23 of 60 spots taken. If we don't get 40+ cars total by next Wednesday 5/9, we may be forced to cancel.

PS- it will be less cars and more runs than the Eastercross.

I hope we get some more people signed up because last time was a blast. Want to try my hand again at a large, fast course and be somewhat prepared for it this time. I'm shooting for getting within 3 seconds of Jason this time instead of 4 seconds.

Yeah, it's gonna be a good time (as it always is at VMP.) I hate to be the @$$hole worried about the bottom line, but this event has gotta break even (or at least not lose the ton of money it looks like it's gonna lose.)

Anyone reading this who wants a shitload of runs on a big fast fun course with very little to hit... for cheaper than any other autocross I can think of (in terms of dollars per run at least)... please sign up ASAP:

Thanks again,
