I like it so far, but miss the general atmo of MW2. I like the new systems for ranking up, getting attachments, etc, but have yet to play a level I like as much or more than some of the previous installation's maps. I'm not much of a fan of how big they are - I thought that'd be fun but really its just more room/spots for people to camp and a hike to take after re-spawning. I do like how lethal weapons are now, taking 5 body shots to put someone down with the M16 etc with Hardline at long range in MW2 was getting old.
I'm at about 30% complete of both the campaign and multiplayer, I find the former to be pretty tired so far. ZOMG big battle, crash/fall out of the sky, have a blurry wake up moment, fight droves of baddies who just stand there waiting to be shot. Wash rinse repeat.
WRXtranceformed Wrote:Type 95 silenced with red dot has given me the wins. I haven't really messed around with the killstreak rewards a whole lot. UAV, care package and some kind of helicopter usually does work for me.
I'm planning to repeat the setup I had in MW2 (if possible - its been a while since I looked at the rewards list). 5 kills to a guided missile, use that to get to 7 kills for a hovering Harrier, and let that get you to 11 kills for AC130 gunner, and do absolutely murderous work with that
Oh, I also got Forza 4. Love it.
Anyone pulled the trigger on the new Assassin's Creed? It's in the mail as we speak! Very excited for that.

I've been using the specialist strike package and so far it's worked out pretty well. I start with a P90, Extreme Conditioning, Quick Draw, and Stalker. Then I get Assasin w/2 kills, Sleight of Hand w/4 kills, and Blind Eye with 6 kills. Usually just the combination of being fast and having Assasin is enough to get some extra kills. I'm gonna try the fast set up with the P90 and a normal strike package and see what I can get.
Lee you weren't lying about the Type 95. First time I used it in a full match I went 28 and 13. Definitely gonna work that gun into the rotation. Only downside is that if I get caught in a shootout with an automatic weapon at close range I usually lose out. Gotta pick em off at distance.

Yeah man, Steady Aim helps even though it's a three round burst. I will usually keep one of the machine pistols as a secondary (like the Skorpion) and whip that out if I'm running around in tight spaces. Its fire rate is so high that you usually win with Steady Aim. Then you can pull out the T95 when you have more room to maneuver. This is a lot more of a tactical game than BO, it's soooo much harder to run and gun so I have had to readjust to a long range killing style. Mike does a good job on the run and gun but my run and gun style is too wreckless to work in MW3

Hmm, I'll have to try using machine pistols in tight spaces. I'll have to see if I can get away without using Steady Aim, I like using Marksman on the bigger maps.

I bet you'd be much better at Black Ops objective game types now!

Had BF3 in my Amazon cart for $28 as part of their Black Friday deals. I bitched out on pulling the trigger.

i will beat whatever he says by $1.
in other news, i've been playing skyrim. normally a game i'd expect to hate, but i'm liking it. i haven't done much of anything other than run around this vastly beautiful world. in a few hours of play, i think i've done MAYBE one main story quest... i've also cooked a lot of shit, made some potions, and wrecked mf'rs with my bow. the level of immersion is pretty sweet.

Is it worth the purchase? I bought Oblivion when I first got my XBOX and it was meh, I just have a really short attention span for stuff like that. I bought Fallout New Vegas and maybe played it for an hour.
I am liking the new Assassin's Creed, but I always enjoy them even though they are mostly all the same. Running around and mercing people with a hidden wrist blade never gets old.

I've been using the Type 95 on the bigger maps and the P90 with rapid fire and a silencer on smaller maps and I am doing better than I have ever done in CoD. I can run and gun with the P90 (or the PP90, only problem with it is I run out of ammo) and surprise people a lot of the time. With the Type 95's burst fire I can kill people without wasting too much ammo so I'm getting more multikills. I almost never had games where I went 30 and 6 or 25 and 8 in MW2, now I can do it at least once or twice every sitting. Most fun I've ever had with CoD, thanks for the tips Lee!
