"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
AR shipped today...yessss. Will post up some pics when it arrives.
Penetrator 2.23s came today too. Price dropped a little so I bought a case for the heck of it.

Thanks guys, I was pretty stoked when I picked it up yesterday...can't wait to get some rounds through it if I can find some cheap ammo here soon.

Recommend me a few good .22 rifles . Would prefer a cool sniper style rifle or AUG clone if those even exist

Best .22 is probably a 10/22. 597 comes in close second.
You can do this with a 10/22:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.midwayusa.com/product/867542/promag-archangel-nomad-folding-rifle-stock-system-with-25-round-magazine-ruger-10-22-synthetic-black">http://www.midwayusa.com/product/867542 ... etic-black</a><!-- m -->
Bad ass.
But, if I were you, just get a dedicated .22lr upper for your AR. same controls and trigger, but cheap shooting.

Magpul handguard and MS3 system is coming next Did you really say, on the 1st post after buying a new gun, that you hope to find some cheap ammo so you can shoot it? Shouldn't that be a pretty big part of the consideration before dropping the coin on the initial purchase?
In other news, I bought myself that new AMG C63 I've been wanting. It sure will make my garage pretty until I find a gas station sells Premium for the same cost as Regular...

In other news, I bought myself that new AMG C63 I've been wanting. It sure will make my garage pretty until I find a gas station sells Premium for the same cost as Regular... I knew how much it cost to shoot, I'm just looking for the best deal on ammo. The prices have skyrocketed since the Obamination was reelected. What's wrong with that? :dunno:
I am not talking about buying a few 30 round boxes, I am talking about 1000 rds at a time. You have to shop around a little bit to find the best deals when you buy in bulk...and there is a gun show here next weekend where sometimes you can get rock bottom deals on ammo.
If you take that AMG C63 out to fill up the gas tank, are you going to go to the first gas station that's close to you no matter what the price is? Or make the short drive to another station where it's cheaper?

Go buy a box of Tula or Wolf or some other steel case. Buy 2 boxes, on 55gr one 62gr. See if it functions well in your rifle. If it does, you in bidness, son. I just paid $.27/round for 500 rounds of 5.56 shipped to my door. I know it'll work in my SIG, so I just bought a bunch.
Gotta know what works before you buy a metric asston of it, though.

Good point. I want to pick up some Federal too because that's what my pistols shoot and they eat it up. I know it's apples to oranges, but their ammo seems to have served me well so far. If the steel case stuff works though, I am down like charlie brown.
Was it you that was telling me it's not a good idea to shoot brass then steel in the same session without a cleaning?

You can shoot brass, then steel, but not the other way around.
Basically, the steel does not expand the way brass does in the chamber, so you get some carbon buildup in between the chamber walls and the case. This isn't a problem until you throw in a brass case that expands more than the steel case and gets "stuck" in between the carbon and the chamber wall.
Basically, it's good policy to only shoot one or the other, and clean your shit after every shooting session.

The DoD years ago were looking at polymer cased rounds to be used as subsonic ammunition. If I remember, they couldn't keep the pressures and velocity high enough for the rounds to be accurate. It sounds like they were starting to look into it again.
