If you're going to gut the interior and make a dedicated track car, then jungle gym it :dunno:

While that cage is awful, I'd like to know how they made a 3600lb car 2700lbs. That's pretty light isn't it? I have heard of some guys swapping out the 2zj for something aluminum and 4 cyl, is that what they did?
Hope this person doesn't get in a side impact, because that single bar without and support is a little scary, but I really don't know much about cages.

a single diagonal on the main hoop would make such a huge difference... unfortunately, the seats are further back the the main hoop, so that can't work.

Start throwing on CF stuff everywhere possible and tearing everything else out and you'll be surprised how much weight you can shed. The problem is that there are diminishing returns for your money when you get into fabricating CF panels and such. I'm also not sure how he got it down to 2700, but I wouldn't call b.s. on him since my non-turbo weighed in just over 3200 with no weight reductions. He's stuck with the 2J, but has switched over to a single turbo setup, so that may have shed a few pounds. I'm pretty impressed that he seems to have cut a chunk out of the firewall and moved the engine back behind the front wheels, making it more of a mid-engine car. V-mount IC/radiator setup is a nice step away from "normal" too.

I need more monies! I don't think that cage would pass nasa inspection.. and it cost him 6800 which includes the paint, labor, and materials. He said the harness bar is going to be put in soon. IDK why he didnt just have it put in when they fabricated the cage..

Not saying anything about this guy's ride, but now that WRX / STi's are coming down in price and are affordable to the rice patrol you should see what people do to them nowadays. I would link the pics except that the IS300 forum is down right now for an upgrade. I'll post back when it comes back up, what God-awful things the rice crowd has done to Subarus now.

I wouldn't say those are all bad, the black/orange/white one is a bit much
and the mysubie graphics are pretty bad, I'll give you that, but they aren't THAT bad the black one (5 up from the bottom) is pretty hot

It's a follow up to my earlier post, I think they all look awful except for the 2.5RS and potentially the black one. The point was to point out how ricers are getting their hands on Subies and ruining them now that you can buy them for pretty cheap.

^Meh, thats pretty subtle, name within the stripe. I think he was taking about stuff like this (Porsche names are much bigger)
