I guess some people (like This guy, and Ghettoracer and our most recent interweb hero, that iflysolo guy) should just be thrown out and not welcome back. If the offense was serious enough to pull his license and he's put on some sort of suspension (1 year?) then that should mean all events IMHO. I agree, but since I wasn't part of the review board for this incident I couldn't chime in on the penalties. I was not part of the review either.I am not sure what the infraction to be banned forever is.I was curious if there was a suspension period and that is why I asked JJ.
How long does he have to stay in HPDE? Plus, I thought he said he was 'Done with NASA' Can't speak to what he said... but in our region a driver needs prior permission to apply for Competition Evaluation from the regional director. Now this particular driver is a NASA SE member and I do not know their policy but is should be similar.

yea, but any region could approve that, no?

yea, but any region could approve that, no? This is true, but AFAIK regions don't have to honor licenses granted by other regions if they don't want to. It's just like any other service industry "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any justifiable reason".

yea, but any region could approve that, no? Both regions involved are in agreement with the sanction and any individual in this position will be heavilly scrutinized prior to any approval for competition.
Basically along the lines of "double secret probation" except it is no secret.

so lets do a red flag dril and see how it goes!
The only thing that stops a bad guy with a van is a good guy with a van
I wish I had known he was coming out earlier, I would have cut the fucking roof off my car fixed the rear end and done a little HPDE3 myself...might have to plan that for the last summit pt this year...
Clarke County Board of Supervisors has recommended and the County Sheriff's office has designated Crums Church Road (Route 632) as a "Targeted Enforcement Area." Crums Church Road (Route 632) is north off of Route 7 just west of Berryville and connects to Old Charles Town Road on the way to SPR. The local law enforcement types will be monitoring speeds in the area between Route 7 and Old Charles Town Road on an increased frequency with a particular emphasis on and around (most) weekends.
Save your racing for the track!!!!!

Save your racing for the track!!!!! This would be the road Rj, Kaan and me hauled ass down last year on the friday night before the oct event. It is way easy to speed there, but it is curvy and not too long ago 2 HS kids delivering newspapers in the AM had a 2X fatal wreck along that road.

actually 14, Christina and Alison are not on the list.
Actually school hasn't started for them Maeng. So actually some probably are busy with stuff like moving in, but there isn't much of current student participation anyway. In other news, Rex and I will be up in the afternoon on sunday, and we are bummed we can't make the entire weekend.

i.e. "Yeah that would be awesome, I'm really looking forward to getting out to Summit, but can't make it this weekend because of move in!"

but I still care...I'm working on ideas to pass along to foster involvement in the motorsports aspect of Madison Motorsports.
Ok, I'm done with the threadjacking...as you were...

I wasn't trying to hate too much. I realize that a lot of the students do have jobs and are busy. And good for you Jess, I guess I should take the initiative too and stop hatin. But it is sad to me to not see many students out at the track. I see a few, that I can name on 1 hand, and hell I'm glad to see them out, but lets get these students out there having the fun times that we all talk about having.
I BTW hate missing a track event, and looks like I'm gonna be missing this one and the october one, cause its Radford's homecoming and I decided I wanted to go this year, then confirmed with some friends, only to discover that its the same weekend as the last track event. BASTARD RADFORD. Guess I should have gone to JMU.
Ok, please resume your regularly scheduled program....

Yeah, this is true, but unless things have changed in the 5 years since Chan, Gerald, and the rest of the OGs have been in college, they faced the same challenges of jobs/money/school as well and still managed to participate. I think we just need to push the cheaper alternatives and make it as easy as possible for them to join in!
