WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions)
#81
I had the same thought about the Z-roadsters, all the same problems as buying a free puppy E36. Been there, done that, have scars and permanent crayon smell burned into my brain circuits.

I really like the Z4 coupes but doesnt look like they've bottomed out as much as the drop tops. I havent owned a convertible since my last Miata, not sure if I really want one of those or not. Also same problems as an older E46.

I peruse BAT listings with the 'german' tag almost daily.

Here's something out of left field, what about a 968? 3.0L motor, RWD, all of the 944 problems mostly worked out, relatively cheap.

those 968's are super cool to me, just given they're probably slower than a modern S2000. i always thought they were the prettiest of the front engine old P car stuff.

that maroon interior gave my eyes AIDS though

I think a 968 is cheaper to own than an E36 or E46.

I did some research on 968's a while back, and, from what I can find they're largely solid to own. Timing belts are expensive but other than that no big problems and the 944-era problems were worked out.

And, we all know the E36/46 ownership experience unless you buy a nice one like DJ was smart enough to do.

BRZ? I mean new-ish, "fun", rwd and stupid cheap. Find <50k mile examples if you search hard enough for less than $15k.
