So, I have been around guns all my life, and had never purchased a gun. I was always given them as gifts or simply borrowed from my dad/grandpa, until today. Purchased my first firearm at the Dixie Classics gunshow here in Richmond.

I went in the door with some requirements, and had narrowed it down to a few guns I was recommended by Rex, and other folks.

Requirements:
-9mm
-Double Action/Single Action (I like Glocks, but don't feel comfortable with having it as my first CC gun, and SA only)
-Small enough for CC, but not a "Compact"
-$450-500 price Range

Narrowed down to these:
-SigSauer- SigPro SP2022
-CZ p-07 Duty
-FN Herstal FNP-9

I had already handled the FNP at GreenTops (local gun store). But went to handle the CZ and Sig at the show. CZ P-07 was a fatty, I didn't like how large the slide was for CC and it just didn't feel right in my hand so it was out. Sig I really liked, especially the texture of the grip, fit well in my hand, found it on a few tables for $399, and $450 with night sights. Grabbed the FNP again, and felt just as good as the Sig. The FNP had been advertised online some places for $389 with 3 10rd mags, and 2 16rd mags. Now I would have to pay shipping some places, and a definite transfer fee of $35-50. All the tables I visited with the FNP only had a single 10rd and were asking $420. So the Sig was looking better and better. Last table, had an entire row of FNP-9 and FNP-40s, w/ 3 10rd mags and the 2 16rd mags. FOR $399 + 5%tax. Sold!

Now, I need to head to the courthouse and get fingerprinted and submit my ppwk for my CCW. Trying to decide between a crossbreed supertuck/copy, or a N8 Squared holster, leaning towards the N8 Squared due to the price. Then a generic nyln holster to tuck in between the seat and the center console of the Jeep/Saab. Also want to grab some Tritium night sights. Looks like Ameri-glow sells some for around $65-75.

On to the pics!

Need to see what it will take to convert the 10 rounders to 15 rounders. Probably just a 15 round follower.

The FN was number 2 on my list. The m&p won on comfort

But a nice pick up!

Rex and I both have a N squared holsters for carry. I love mine, Rex prefers to carry outside the waistband. After talking to one of the Nates about the product they sell, I'll probably use their holster forever. Any man who can sew better than me( and they do hand make the holsters) gets my vote. Enjoy the gun, now you need to come down and visit and we'll make an alumni gun day out to the range on 33.

Nice lookin gun man. I love my crossbreed supertuck. Well worth the extra $10 to get horsehide as well. Never worn a N squared holster before.

So shot 50 rds through the FNP today, shot really well, very comfy, when shooting from DA im paying too much attention to the hammer coming back and anticipating it to fire. SA is obviously way easier. 40rds of 50 made it onto the plate, but as you can see, there is no grouping at all.

Early Christmas present to me thanks to xmas bonus. Mossberg 835 Turkey Gun with 26" barrel in camo with fiberoptic sights. 12 gauge and can shoot 2 3/4", 3" and 3 1/2" shells. Only thing I can't shoot through this barrel is slugs.

So my brother owns a fire/police supply business, and just so happens to be able to get alot of really cool toys.

Thus, I got some toys for the FNP.

Blackhawk Serpa CQC w/ exposed Carbon Fiber, Blackhawk does not make a holster for my FNP, but with some internets, I found the HK P30 holster works at about a 95% fit. I like it, primary use will be open carry and winter conceal carry, pending my wardrobe for the day. Once I get my CC permit (submitted on 1/3), ill be getting an IWB holster.

CARBAHN FIBAHHHHH = BAWWWLLLIIIINNNNN  This is real CF, the holster itself is made of CF and some sort of composite.

Hogue HandAll Universal grip, really like this thing, makes the gun feel like it was made for my hand.

I've been in FL the past few days to take care of the ole gma (she's gonna be fine... thanks)... In doing so, I needed to go through each and every drawer and box in her house. The (sur)prizes:

Two loaded .32s. One saturday night special and the other this goofy revolver that has "US" stamped on a plastic grip. Both pieces of junk. As I wasn't checking a bag, I left them there... Will bring them home in a few weeks. They're total pieces of shit so I don't know if I'll muster the courage to fire them, but still kind of neat. Will take pics at that time.

I'm also thinking of picking up a Crimson Trace grip for the M&P9.

If all goes well, I'm going to be picking up a 12 gauge Mossberg 930SPX autoloader sometime this year. Kind of excited to get a better, newer shotgun.

I hope more come. I heard there was a rebirth of the Colt Mustang, but that might just be in .380, not 9mm.
