navin Wrote:No offense - but what's with all this gun-ho NASA-TT mentality going around..? Yeah it's a cool idea and and all, but Justin hasn't even tracked this car yet. Phuck TT points + classing, and go ahead and put the car on the track.
You have to take these points for NASA-X as well, hence why im so concerned about points. TT is down the road, but you guys seem to forget that NASA-X classing is basically the same as TT classing.

Right now im +15 and then +/- whatever my reclass's base tire size is. So If I calculated correctly, I have 4 points to play with before im bumped up 1 class.
Tire Compound +2
Tire Width -determined by base reclass
Shocks +3
Springs +2
Sways +2
R LCA +1
Subframe Brace +3
Brake Calipers +2
Total: +15
And looking at it even if I stay in the normal base class for a Civic, I would still only be +1 for tire width!

That theory fails if he gives you aa base class ot TTE* or TTE**. Which I think is where he is going to put you.

Why is wrapping the headers bad? Just wondering because I literally just put my newly wrapped exhaust manifolds back in. :dunno: not sure why as the M won't see the track but I figured it would be the only time my manifolds would be out and didn't see how lower engine bay temps could hurt :dunno:

I personally wouldnt do it on a daily/street driven car.
Header Wrap is good, but tends to keep moisture in to "possibly" rust your exhaust out faster without proper care. A lot of this is fixed by simply using a good wrap job and silicone spray effectively.
For a track car its also dangerous if left in certain environments, but a car thats garaged, taken apart regularly? Header wrap is immensely good. Keep exhaust temps up for higher velocity, keep engine bay temps down, its win/win.
Ive used header wrap for YEARS, and done properly its not a problem. But I would definitely change it out every year or two depending on your environment. And it does a wayyyyy better job than any coating from personal experience.

^now you tell me, dammit. Oh well, I guess we will see what happens to it on a non garaged street car. I did use the silicon spray so that should help but if I need a new set of stock manifolds in a couple year, I won't be upset. My bay ran super hot as it was so anything to cool it down a little

So wheels fit well, my only concern is the rear upper control arm, it is REALLY close to the inner lip of the wheel, would guess 1/8th to 1/4 inch MAX of clearance, but my pinky wont fit between the wheel and the UCA, hard to tell for sure how much clearance it is. And its just the lip on the outer edge of the UCA. Should be ok? do I need to introduce the UCA to Mr. Grinder? It wont be a problem if I go with a rear camber kit because they are smaller UCAs. Circled in red is what im contemplating grinding off. Not sure if I marked it right, but its that area on whichever side is considered the top.
what class would that put you in?
yes, you'll be find to grind that.
