I think the problem is that we have NO ONE to make such a thing. We need to find someone who's sick with illustrator and can make something.

I'm gonna go hunt down every freakin' SMAD major i know on this damn campus and then every SMAD major that person knows until I get someone to whip something up for us. Can't be too hard right? SMAD majors are everywhere

Be sure to say "add to your portfolio" at least 10 times.

That Steven Toyota flier is kind of a disaster, but it looks like they had a ton of sponsors, so I could see it being kind of hard to not have a vomit puddle of sponsor logos everywhere.

I did some digging, here is a nice, clean flier from the 2011 show:



I like it because it has some actual pics from an earlier show incorporated into it. We did something similar with the '09 show (best everrrr) flier, excuse the tiny thumbnail but it's all I could find online at the moment. You can see it was bordered top and bottom with actual pics of actual cars from the '08 show - it never hurts to have a healthy serving of eye candy.



That show was insane. That flier plus radio ads and hitting lots of forums =



If you want to do something like this, check this thread - pics from the '09 show as well as links on pg.1 to photos from earlier shows. And just search "motorshow 2010", "motorshow 2011" etc. on here to find tons more pics.

A super-bawlin' flier made in Illustrator would be cool, but if time is a factor, a quick and dirty PS job would be more than sufficient, as long as it's clean and legible IMO.

That flier would be better with some capital letters. I feel like all lowercase is equivalent to comic sans.

Do y'all think the Ferrari Club of America: Mid Atlantic chapter would be worth contacting? I know they're all pretty cool guys. I'm sure some of them would want to stop by or something.

Sooo, can everyone post up what they think is THE MOST important stuff that should be on the flyer? Don't include what we already have. Most/all of that will already be included. I'm gonna meet with three people who claim to be experienced in both photoshop and illustrator later this week and see what they can do. I may have found someone who can make a video. Still waiting to see what his work looks like though.

Okay I hate to be the debbie downer but at this point we just need something out to spread. Link the Facebook event which I'll try to update sometime today. We just don't have time to sit around waiting for more people to edit. I think the poster we have is sufficient enough. If we get a better one, cool copy it into whatever threads you have made. As for Ferrari Club of America, absolutely. We are reaching out to probably 50 different clubs in the DMV area. I put Steven Toyota's logo on the poster and am waiting on Bipolar Aware's.

I'm using the half-sheet format that Goodspeed used from car shows past. I'll post a first draft in a couple hours.

Random thought - please make sure to update the homepage of our website, which nobody does, ever. The flyers always reference "for more info, visit mmsports.org" and the past few years, there's been no info. Great spot to make a post with more show information, pix from old shows, etc.

I'm on that as well. I had told the others to update the front page with karting and never pursued getting that done, that's my fault.

Here's something a bit more old school, but I think it gets the point across. It doesn't look nearly as polished as the template from last year, but then again, I don't expect that we'll have a lime green lambo artfully placed in front of some interesting architecture at the show. At any rate, it's up to you guys to decide which one you prefer.




The QR code can be scanned by a smart phone to bring up directions from your current location. I can swap out the photos at the bottom with different ones if someone has something better. Open to other suggestions, I also have the .psd available if someone wants to get in the driver's seat. If we want to use this one, Imma need that bipolar aware .png.

RE: info on the flier, I always felt it was easy enough to do the map thing separately (like Ryan above) and just post it below the flier on whatever forum you're on. A little map with an arrow and some simple instructions and people can figure it out from there. And the QR code is sweet!
