So I impulse bought a pressure washer with a snowfoam attachment. I wanted something that would legitimately clean up all my environmental crimes on the garage floor, and something to speed up the car washing process.
The idea of the snowfoamer is you cover the car in an heavy layer of suds as the first step, allow it to soak for a few minutes to loosen up all of the heavy grit, then rinse it with the pressure washer. Then you make a quick pass around the car with a wash mitt like you would normally and rinse again. Even though you're washing "twice", it ends up saving time because you don't have to sit there and scrub at stuck on shit with the wash mitt. It also makes cleaning wheels a hands-free affair when used in combination with Sonax, and it theoretically will reduce the amount of fine swirls and scratches because you're blasting off the top layer of filth without actually touching the car.
And just to save you goons the trouble, I went ahead and photoshopped it in myself:

I only paid about $80 for the pressure washer which seems like a steal, and $40 for the snowfoamer bottle, which felt like a bit of a rip off, but still, not a bad price all in for something to speed up the car washing chore. I managed to get all three of our cars done in less than 2 hours yesterday.

Mine is specifically made for the brand of washer I have, but presumably you can find something similar to fit yours:

Bring her on over. I wonder how many cars we can get away with washing at my house before the HOA throws a shitfit about an unzoned small business or something.

Did you get the Sun Joe? I helped my boss wash his car the other week, and thats the one he started with and recommended I give a try. He now has some ridiculous German unit... but man, after giving him a hand, I never want to go back to the bucket process. She looked real nice...

So, for Joey and others how does something like this work for washing cars? <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="https://www.amazon.com/Joe-SPX3001-Electric-Pressure-Washer/dp/B00LX8Z03K/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1477363108&sr=8-4&keywords=electric+power+washer">https://www.amazon.com/Joe-SPX3001-Elec ... wer+washer</a><!-- m -->
Are electric power washers half way decent these days?
Are they quiet?
Will putting foam in the tank that comes with the washer work as well as a foam blast bottle and attachment?
What electric pressure washers do you recommend?
Just been eyeing doing this awhile as the bucket method is no fun.

Why buy an electric power washer?
Senor_Taylor Wrote:Why buy an electric power washer? My neighbors have one and I borrowed it recently. It was barely able to clean my front porch and walk way. Took double the time of a gas unit. But it was quiet and easy to use. I wouldn't buy one though. Didn't seem like it was capable of cleaning much.

A regular power washer is quiet, or quieter than a lawn mower, so I don't see the purpose unless you're planning on power washing at 3 AM.
A regular power washer is very loud. I'd say louder than a lawn mower.... all I'm asking for is to use it to wash cars instead of using the bucket method... didn't know it wasn't obvious by what was being talked about earlier.

I'm guessing you haven't used a gas power washer recently? Cuz they are they furthest thing from quiet. Much louder than a lawn mower. I stripped paint off my deck earlier this year using one and my ears were ringing after using it for 2 days straight.

They're only loud when you pull the trigger. I guess you haven't mowed grass lately?
I've pressure washed many a thing.
I'm sure it depends on how new your lawn mower and power washer are. And maybe size too. Our old fairly loud power washer is much louder than our newer lawn mower.
And searching foam Lance will probably get you what you're looking for on Amazon. Just looking at recommended suggestions on Joey's link so a $25 option with better reviews than his link

i'd love to know what gas powered power washers you guys are using that are quiet. unfortunately i have an enormous amount of time having my brain rattled by these damn things lately after spending 3 straight days stripping old stain off my backyard fence and scrubbing roof trim @ 8hrs constant running each day. and i mow every week with my self propel gas mower and 2 stroke trimmer. there's no comparison to lawn equipment, power washers are "chainsaw-loud" to my ears. even with ear plugs in, i'm ringing for hours afterwards.
i've used
- rental Briggs+Strat 2500psi from hoe depot
- Karcher/Honda 3000psi (dads)
- electric Greenworks 2000psi (neighbors)
the electric was definitely weaker, but with a good spray bit in the wand it was 80% as effective with WAY less noise.
if i ever buy a power washer its going to be electric for sure, especially if its going to be sitting most of the time. if all you're doing is washing cars or occassionally busting some grime off your driveway or siding, that's all you should ever need.
