Took the day off when it came out since I was heading on vacation and spent the day beating the campaign. Got back Sunday night so my first multiplayer was Mon night. Ugh I've completely forgotten how to play this game. Thanks to Mikey's suggestion I'm getting my skills back in Big Team Battle. Tonight though will be spent working on a few more achievements, and then onto more multiplayer.

I don't have an ethernet jack in my living room where my 65" is so I brought the XBOX upstairs to my bedroom along with my girlfriend's Wii.

BTW, campaign on Legendary is hard in this version of Halo. My buddy and I blasted out a few levels the other night, but wtf...sometimes I just started laughing. Brutes take literally 4 clips worth of ammo to kill. The heavier duty orange and white ones take 4 sniper shots to the dome to drop. What's odd is that the hunter-killers don't seem to need more ammo to take them out. We found that you really had to use the maps effectively to get past certain points. The only way to get past a situation where you're up against like a turret and 5 or 6 brutes with 10 or so other mobs around was to get on opposite sides of the map and have one guy draw their fire.

BTW there's a "cheater" way to get all the firefight achievements:
Heat in the Pipe
Scored 1,000,000 points in a Firefight game.
Game, Set, Match
Completed a Firefight set on Legendary without dying.
Blaze of Glory
Scored 200,000 points in a Firefight game.
Firestarter
Scored 50,000 points in a Firefight game.
Crowd Control
Earned a Killionaire medal in Firefight.
Lucky Me
Earned a Triple Kill while Jetpacking in Campaign, Firefight or Matchmaking.

I set up a custom gametype for firefight that makes it easy. I've shared the file if you just want to download it and use it. Quick and easy 170 achievement points.

i'm also only playing campaign on legendary. shit is HARD at times.

No kidding. I just beat it on Legendary Solo last night. Man that was rough at times. It was cool to get the message "3 achievements for 325 Points" message. Just a hint. Plasma Pistol Overcharge, followed by a dome shot with the battle rifle on the massive amount of Zealots they throw at you.

Now that people have had some time to play some multiplayer, what armor abilities are you using to the best effect?

For me:

*Sprint - A lot of times I choose it simply because it starts me with a DMR. On the more open maps I choose it almost exclusively.
*Armor Lock - I didn't like this at first but I was just using it last night and got a lot of kills. The key is you've got to have a teammate with you to bail you out. Works pretty well for me on small to medium-sized maps
*Hologram - Works on the small and medium stuff.

We should get a game together this week or over the weekend or something.

Hologram for sniper. Haven't used jet pack or armor lock yet. I'll use active camo sometimes

I found myself LOVING active camo when I jumped on for a few games the other day. I had a couple of guys follow me into a corner or hidden area, run around looking for me, and I'd sneak up next to them for the assassination. I've gotta say that I really enjoy using the needler even though it's such a bitch weapon. I had some kid keep sticking me over and over with plasma grenades, so I'd take the high ground and just needle the shit out of him over and over.

I pretty much exclusively use Hologram, Sprint, or Jet Pack. I find that Jet Pack is helpful to get to higher ground on certain maps. Hologram is very useful for sniper matches (which I still hate with a passion), and as G said, sprint is just very handy in general. I have yet to use Armor Lock, but am curious to see how I'll do. Haven't had much time lately for the game with work, but now that I've beat it on Legendary, it's all multiplayer from her on out.
