From the link: One (1) * on a base class assignment denotes a 7 point initial assessment

So you basically start with 7 points. Thats what I get out of it at least.... :?

Yep. If you have a "*" next to your base class you automatically add 7 points based on your car's stock capabilities (or 14 for "**" of course.)

They actually took the asterisk OFF my car for '07 so I have a few more points to play with... I think with my new partz I'm still only at 15-16 points and staying in D. Now if I could just modify the loose nut behind the wheel a little better...

It is pretty wild how different the classing systems are, SCCA you are classed about two classes above me; NASA you are one class lower.

its cause Nasa has a better system lol. I posted about that in the autocross information thread.

To be honest Shea, your car should be beating the shit outta the GSX, better chassis, better suspension, better tires. All what makes a good autox car. So I find it completely wild that my all-seasoned stock suspensioned GSX was in SM competing against evos and stis with built motors, 2000 dollars in their suspension and basically DOT legal slicks.

The NASA is a much more realistic and accounts for mods much better.

Agreed. I probably won't get into the NASA season much but it will be fun to compete against cars other than just EVOs and STis.

Hah, yeah I got put in C too. I like the way Nasa classes but I don't think I should have started in D judging by what other sorts of cars run in that class.
Wait, whats the 7 initial points? I might be in B.

You start out with 7 points automatically if your car is listed with a (*) behind the name. If not you start out with 0 points.

Personally I am out gunned in E with NASA (but really good in F depending what tires and sway bars I have in the car at that time)

I'd have to imagine I'm gonna get pretty worked in Class B. Big Grin

I don't think I get a * simply because it's motor swap puts me in D, I had to ask the class director where to place my car. I'll shoot him another email, thanks for the help.

I'm officially signed up for this event. A few of my friends from Richmond will be there as well, should be a lot of fun. If you would like a place to crash the night before let me know. Will be my first event with NASA, can't wait to check out VMP.

Jon, if you see this... I meant to sign up for Heat 1 as first choice and Heat 2 as second. Thanks. I think I left that part blank. Sad

Bump for this next weekend. The Subie may actually see third gear. Should be fun getting smoked by the cars in my class.

As I mentioned before if you need somewhere to stay, let me know and it can be arranged.

I'll have to agree CDC's planning of a Saturday autocross is better but I'll be visiting my grandparents in Petersburg for dinner anyways so I don't mind it too much.

Saturdays at VMP are virtually unavailable due to the weekly drag racing schedule and various special events. :?

Still plenty of spots left for Easter Sunday though,
