According to Progressive, they are really expensive compared to everyone else  .
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

I think it's going to come down to which car I like better. I've driven the boxster 2.7, Z4 2.5, SLK320, A4 1.8T (6-Speed), 330Ci Sportpak, and haven't driven the S4 but I'm leaning away from it because of the bad press.

The 330Ci was quick, but it's felt heavy. It felt like an "over achiving sports sedan/coupe". Z4 is alittle expensive still. The SLK is a girls car. The A4 is bloated in comparison.

I'm at the stage in life where I don't have a girlfriend (or wife/kids for that matter), and I want a pure sports car. After driving the Boxster, my reaction was that I had never felt more free in my life. The car is ready to drive with over 200hp, great breaks, perfect balance, firm shift action, solid clutch with solid feedback, wonderful engine tone, extremely planted drive feeling, and a connecton to my soul that I've never felt before.

So, I'm probably going to get the boxster. But if I don't get attached to it in a years time, I will probably look for something else (do the search again).

I have a perfect driving record. Knock on wood. I'm assuming that will help lower the level that the insurance companies rape me.

E30M3? 8)

I can't hate on the boxter too much, if I was forced to buy a porsche, that's what I'd get. Or a 914. But I do REALLY hate the idea that they design them not to be worked on. It certianly gets rave reviews despite this fact.

.....but an E30M3 (for as much as you're spending, it could be super restored) would have so much more class and origionality IMHO

Or an E34M5.... mmmm....

can I have some of your money?

I've got some friends in low places I'm going to talk with tomorrow...I hopefully can get that number down...on paper though a 19 year old male with a porsche. They don't know I'm careful and can handle the responsibility that comes along with a sports car.

Ehhh...hopefully it comes down

Now I just need to sell the acura...hahaha

I'm sorry but I am sick of hearing people bag on the Boxster just because Tony Soprano said "Its a Porsche with panties". If you're gonna criticize the car, criticize it on facts not some stupid brand snobbery.

For me the only things I have against the regular Boxster are:

A. Difficult to work on
B. Gets its ass kicked by the S2000 for less $$$

But it still is a fine automobile and I couldn't really criticize anyone for buying one if that's their thing. Flexible powerband, good brakes, balanced handling. Not a land missile or razor-sharp katana but definitely a proper sporting ride.

But anyway, as Chan said, I'd go for one of the M3's. The E30 of course having more character and heritage than any of the other cars being considered except for the 911. And I'd be one to take it to the track and I'd hate to have to go through all the roll bar nonsense with the Boxster.

It's VAG character. Kind of like Torque Steer is SAAB character. Makes the cars endearing.

I agree - milk that for as long as you can! My parents dropped me from their policy as soon as I graduated...
