101) Revving off at a State Trooper on 81 south past Roanoke at ~70mph. I had cruise control on and as we passed the cop (Ryan T with me) I put the clutch in to quiet the car, assuming it would kill the CC (like tapping the brakes)...first time trying this. Nope, we pass the cop, rev limiter banging and the car sailing by a whole hell of a lot louder than 3k rpms :oops: He didn't come after us, but for that split second that was the most scared I've been in a long time...

102) 81 north, Sunday evening after Thanksgiving for 4.5 hours of non-stop hell...speed up, slow down, crawl for a mile, wash rinse and repeat. Pulling back on the highway at night after pulling over on the shoulder dodging 80mph semis isn't fun either

as a side note -- leaving roanoke at 9 on sunday i counted over 17 state troopers before i even hit pulaski county, and 8 drivers pulled over.

Yeah? how many square feet are you heating, to what temperature? I keep the T-stat set at 65, which I didn't think was unreasonably high. Only other thing on gas for me is the water heater.

"Propane" as in big tank outside that has to be filled regularly? Or do they actually pipe propane to homes up there? We have natural gas stove, water, and heat and the highest bill I've ever had was maybe $170 in the winter.

Propane thats stored in a 600 gallon underground tank in the back yard. They come fill it every month I think.

I'm not so much a fan of electric heat. I our house last year we had the thermostat set somewhere in the upper 50's and our bill for January was $680. I'm not even being sarcastic. Needless to say the thermostat was set right at 45 degrees the rest of the winter and we would avoid being in the house as much as possible.

In my house this year, we just spent about $1000 total (five people) to buy all the wood and oil we need for the winter. I love wood stoves.

Propane is expensive as shit man, you don't have to use much to have your bill get high real quick. I've seen propane bills in high end homes that rival some peoples' mortgage payments!! hock:

106) despite you getting in to a silly tight parallel spot without hitting anybody, the lady in front of you hitting you twice (she had tons of room in front) while you're still in your car and she doesn't even bother to get out and look for damage or leave a note (she didn't know i was still in my car).

no, no damage, but i'm sure my license plate bracket left her 2 new gouges for her collection (rear bumper looked like it had been through a meat grinder).
