Well Google finally made a noticeable (to me at least) change to the way part of the home operates. The Google shopping list.
And what do you know, it's much worse. Now instead of it adding things to your keep list when you ask it to put things on your shopping list, it puts it in a shopping list in the Google home app and then when you click that tab, it opens up a web page in chrome. I imagine if you had the Express app installed, it might open it there but I don't want to order my shopping list. It's for consolidating things I find I need over the course of the week to pick up at the store.
Why is this so annoying (even if I hadn't fully started using it yet) because before it went straight the keep app which is on my home screen. I click the keep icon and all my lists are right there and I click the one I want or don't even have to, I can see it at a glance without even opening it.
Now I have to open the home app (also on my home screen now) then click the 3 lines to open up a menu then shopping lists then it takes me to the Express website and then I can see or edit my list from my phone. Why Google, why? How is that better?
It also seems like you still can't add things to a certain list from the home by saying :add *item* to **name of list**. You can still just add things to one primary list. Shit is stupid.

It sounds like you aren't using it the way it was designed to be used. It sounds like the list is wanting you to order through google? Why don't you just tell it to create a reminder or some sort of non-shopping list? Can it do that?

Yea but the list option was convenient because all grocery items I added during the week would be on the same list. Then I just pull it up at the store. It's still kind of the same except now I have many more steps, screens, and web pages to get to it. Which makes it a pain when trying to add things from the phone opposed to voice adding them. I could set reminders(I think) but then I'd have like 15 reminders and set them to what. I have no idea what time or day I'll actually end up in the store. And I usually leave GPS off so a Geo reminder wouldn't work plus the one time I tried a Geo one, with GPS turned on, it never reminded me. Not sure if it only works if you GPS a route to that location or what.
And if I understand your recommendation, Google home can only add items to one list and its the shopping list. I can still use keep and add it from the phone which is what I'll do. I was just looking forward to being able to throw an item on using the home while I was in the kitchen cooking and find something low or out without stopping what I was doing.
I really just need to find a job so I don't have the time to care about this stupid shit anymore.
And basically my main issue is that it seems like every update for everything makes the products worse. Like this change is to get you to be more likely to use Google Express and nothing more. It's not helpful to anyone unless you can't leave your house and would use Express for everything and there's no opt out which is just bullshit

Just put in a request for a Galaxy S8+, we'll see if company grants it or if they "downgrade" me to an S8  Will post back on my thoughts when it arrives

I fondled them a few days ago. The S8 is the tits - same width and thickness as my S6 and just a bit taller but with A LOT more screen. IMO, the S8+ was way too big.
I decided to spend the coin and get VZW instead of TMO. I was really interested in the free international with TMO, but I realized I only ever leave the country like one time a year. That and I have Fi as my work phone, so I could use that instead of the VZW phone.
That and I decided on an LG 65" OLED. Now I just gotta decide if I want a 2016 model or wait for 2017.

The S8 specs on size seemed right in line with what you said, it's not much bigger than my S7 and the S8+ is slightly bigger than that. My big thing is battery life; I need that extra capacity and I don't want to do it with a bulky battery-case add on. I think I can put up with a slightly larger phone to not always have to worry about plugging in.
Funny on the TV, i'm actually thinking about downsizing to a smaller hi-def TV or monitor strictly for gaming. While it's awesome to game on the big screen it's not conducive for multiplayer in many ways

You'd be better off tossing a small 3000 mAh external battery in your bag for emergencies.

Anyone have a Daydream remote and headset they wanna part with for reasonable $$$ before I just buy one retail?
Speaking of TVs is anyone running AndroidTV having issues with the Netflix app? I'm getting a persistent "Sorry we could not reach the Netflix service." According to Netflix a good ole unplug-it-and-plug-it-back-in-again should do the trick, but it don't. I've restarted both from the settings menu and by sneaking up on it and yanking the cord out, plus following Netflix's recommendation to leave it unplugged for a minute and to press the power button while unplugged to 'discharge' it, which seems a bit voodoo. Also dug through the settings and forced stopped the Netflix app. TV software and app version are all up to date. Internet connection is good and all the other apps work. :dunno: #myappletvneverdidthis

I'm thinking about upgrading our two iphone 6 - I assume the logical thing to do would be get a pair of 7's.
Do any carriers have any promotions going on? I missed out on the one last year with the launch of the 7. Is there any reason to stay with AT&T? I've been happy with their coverage and service. When the iphone was launched on Verizon, you couldnt do voice and data at the same time, is that still true?
Are there any other carriers I should look at? I'm not opposed to buying the phones outright and taking them to another carrier.

Wait until the fall for the iPhone 8. Still no voice and data at the same time on VZW.

Does your phone get texts?
The internet says VZW has voice and data at the same time starting with the 6 and 6+. Agree with the suggestion to wait for the 8, if you want to stay in the same ecosystem. Either that or get a 7 on sale right before the 8.

Warned you - all Smart TV's suck. Android, WebOS, whatever else some TV named it, or otherwise. They just don't get updated applications in time. #myFireTVneverdoesthis
If the error is anything like the one i'd get on my Samsung on WebOS, it was that i had to log out and then back in to netflix. Which, when you don't have a keyboard, is kind of a pain in the ass.

I'm with this guy. The smart apps are a complete waste of time. The only one I regularly use is Netflix on my Samsung. The HBO Go app constantly needs to be logged into which is a pain in the ass. Showtime doesn't even have an app. FX Now is horrendous.
That's why I got a non-smart plasma for the basement. Use all the apps through my Xbox One which as you all know gets frequent updates.

I also don't use the apps on my smart TV but I do like the ability to easily cast video from my phone, that alone makes it worth it. Our other TV in the living room isn't a smart TV but I can just cast stuff to it via the Roku

I can't get far enough into the app to log out and back in. I can work around it by casting from the laptop or just going back and using the AppleTV, which still works beautifully it just doesn't do 4k. I'm tempted to just buy a new AppleTV but it seems stupid to spend $200 just because one goddamn app won't boot up.

Yup, i fought with it for a but then finally caved because it was just too frustrating.
Jesus - is that really what Apple wants from you for a fucking streaming box? $149? AND IT DOESN'T EVEN DO 4K.
Just buy a FireTV for $90, that does 4K, doesn't use fucking Siri, and still lets you connect from your phone. Or Roku Premiere plus for $99 that also does 4K, if you don't have Amazon prime and can't use most features.

Turns out Amazon has a corporate discount with VZW, so we're now paying $8/month more for 8 GB.
