Since you haven't heard my rant, you get to hear it now.

I can't own one, because driving around the NoVA/DC/MD area reveals that they are largely owned by people who don't give a shit about driving, don't give a shit about maintenance, don't give a shit about parking in the lines, don't give a shit about anything. They are a company that produces the most bland of the bland, the least inspired, the beige-iest of beige.

The exception as far as "type of people who buy them" is generally owners of the 4Runner and Tacoma. Y'all are cool, those trucks are legit, but unfortunately I'm not shopping for either of those things.

I am well aware that yes, they have made some exciting things in the past and are trying to make some interesting and exciting things now (the 86 twins, the LFA, the IS, etc). However, given that they seem to revel in the thought of making boring cars for the plainest examples of humanity, I refuse to support them by owning a car they produced, by paying property taxes on it, by buying parts for it, etc.

Before I get lambasted for calling the Camry and Corolla boring while ignoring the Focus/Fusion, Cruze/Malibu, Dart/200, Civic/Accord, whatever else... all of those cars have some redeeming qualities. They are owned by people who cross-shop brands. They are owned by people who were not enticed by a brand reputation from the 1980s and the marketing slogan "It's A Car!" (yes, look up the Yaris)

I'd rather drive a damn Crossfire than a Toyota or Lexus. And that is a good example of a car that also excels at very little yet somehow manages to still be interesting.

I'm also very aware that my hatred of driver ignorance can be applied to every brand and model of car. But around here, it is especially exemplified by the Toyota owner.

But yeah, I'm pretty set on my German douchenozzlemobiles and the reputation/stigma that come with them. I'd rather that than the Camry Corner.

Because a gray plastic bumper on a white car looks awful, I don't want someone else's project and I bet the heated seats don't work.

Now get off my stupid lawn.

Those arguments are as pedantic as Mike rejecting 99% of cars for not having memory seats. I reject them and claim you hate America Wink

Mikey and I are whiny punks that know what we want and will not accept compromise. I'm rejecting an otherwise-perfect M3 'vert in NY because it doesn't have heated seats and I want heated seats.

In the case of the memory seats, that was a wife.
In all other cases of car buying, yes. I shopped for the proper Civic for well over a year.

Am I the only one that finds LSB insanely tacky? It hurts my eyes to look at it. Also what is with the black wheels? Looks terrible.

yes. the only greater color they did was phoenix yellow.

and yeah, those wheels are gross, but it's not like Jake doesn't have access to a different set or 7.

I like LSB but don't love it. Those wheels would have to go ASAP, too.

Might be buying an Amtrak ticket in a few hours, waiting on a few things to be figured out.
