We had an SS at work once. It was sweet...a 454 w/ automatic. Had a big old cam in it too. I remember DJ going out to start it and pull it in.
Car turns over...and over...and over
DJ- "It won't start!"
Me- "Its got carbs, pump it!"
Pumps...Turns...VEEERRROOOMMMMMMM..blub...blub...blub...dies
DJ- "I can't keep it running!!!"
Me- "get outta' there boy, you and your damn fuel injection!"
After about 2 tries myself I got in in the shop. The cam was so huge it would barely hold an idle in the cold. You kinda had to nurse the throttle to keep it running until it got warmed up a bit.
Reminds me of the old 454 dumptruck.... :twisted:
