+1 for sleep.
This past June we ran at BR with EMRA. I took Mike "Furball" Furman as crew and we ended up finding a nice little shithole to party at Saturday night. We stayed out late but I didn't drink and I didn't do any drugs so the only thing different was the amount of sleep. My times were not only slower on Sunday but by the second race (we had 2 Sunday) I was making techinical mistakes that someone of at my experience level shouldn't. That was the weekend that I decided I had to get at least 7 hours sleep before track days.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
