The stock SE-R seats hold you in decently for stock seats. Only picture I could find of them: http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_im ... 115_71.jpg
A seat back brace will punch a hole in those seats given enough force, that is a bad idea. Either get hard shell seats or forget it all.
+1
I would save your money until you can afford to get most of the stuff together. You won't be going that fast in group 1 anyways.
Not that I have some amazingly fast car, but it isnt a slug either. I'd be surprised if I put down anything less then 170 whp, probably closer to 180 and a good amount of torque too. My car weighs 2400 pounds. I'm not on R comps (and wont until I at least make group 2, maybe not even then), but handling isnt to bad either.
Chad, got any articles/research/documentation about seat braces puncturing seat backs?
It's not a critique of your car nor your skills. Instructors won't let you go that fast in group 1.
Two feet.
