The AWD 1st gen DSM: You will be hard pressed to find a reliable one for cheap. You could get lucky and snag one that hasn't been modified or beat to shit, but I doubt it.
The WeRX: Out of your budget. By far.
The Prelude: Also out of your budget.
The e36: Out of your budget...
That leaves the Civic and the 240.
I say the 240. RWD OwnZ, remember that. And when you get the nerve (or maybe the cash to sink into it) you have many cool engine swap options.
