If your alternator wont charge it, then what makes you think a battery charger will?
Lead-acid batteries are peculiar animals. They dont like being drained, at _all_
If it wont crank your car over, then the battery has been reduced to 20%-30% of its maximum total capacity anyway.
The easiest and probably best solution is to pick up a new battery.
