We used to have goldeneye tournaments for cash back in the day ! And yeah, remote mines were > all by far. Nobody ever played with proximity mines because they took no skill; you could just load up a level and sit in the corner somewhere until someone died =p A kid I knew could throw a remote mine then switch to the AR-15 and blow it up in mid-air. I wasn't that precise but I rarely lost.
I'd have to say the Complex was the funnest to play and the level I knew the best. That's where I perfected the ninja multiplayer technique of screenwatching!
I'd probably suck at it now, it's been years since I've played. Maybe I should fire it up instead of Super Smash Brothers next time I hit the N64 =p
