I don't think we'll see a Miata Coupe for this generation of Miata. Maybe for the next one but I don't think it'd sell well. Most of the appeal of the Miata is that its a convertible. If it weren't not many people would buy it unless it was significantly faster. Also you've gotta be thinking about the upcoming Mazdaspeed 3, which will be filling the performance offering from Mazda for around $20K and of course the RX-8 comes in at the mid to upper 20's.
With the Cosworth thing I'm interested in seeing what Ford does with it because supposedly SVT is going away for a few years and coming back completely revamped. Maybe they'll leave room for an STi/Evo fighter awd turbo Focus (which is what I hope).
